Cops are so blinded and stupid. No laws broken. Settlement incoming One of these days people are going to get tired of feeding these guys families. I know I am. So what if he’s a douche. That’s not against the law.

Not necessarily. There are places where you have to answer and ID yourself, etc.

He asked the bank security guard how many people work inside and where is the vault located. He got exactly what he wanted, attention.

What questions am I required to answer? Yes in some places you are required to show ID if you re lawfully detained with reasonable suspicion but that’s not a true question…

Just ignore these people. Video them without them knowing if you must and try to catch them slipping up and breaking the law, but don't feed the charade. They'll get tired and go home.

I'm siding with the cops on this one. Dude was purposely acting suspicious. Asking questions that would lead someone to believe he was planning a bank robbery, then refused to identify himself or answer any questions to the police. Apparently there is a law in Ohio that allows them to arrest you under those circumstances. He got what he wanted. Sadly he will probably get paid alot of money in a lawsuit.

If there is reasonable articulatable evidence that he's committing a crime or about to commit a crime, they can make him identify. Other than that, he's not required to do so.

He set the bait and the cops bit on it.

Not on a public sidewalk if no laws are broken

I'm sure he will get paid with no admission of wrong doing from the police.
Make of that what you will.

Yep, even "Right to Identify" states have the "Reasonably articulate......" clause.
That said, acting suspicious around a bank to the point that it draws the interest of security and gets police involved should mean that the police were 100% able to reasonably articulate their suspicions.
