I’ve gone through a period in a long relationship with no kids.
I lived the single life for a while in my later 20s early 30s traveling the world with friends and by myself. It was fun but incomplete.
Now I am married with a 3 and 5 year-old and it is the absolute best time of my life.

Doing difficult but worthwhile things and doing them well is extremely rewarding. Many parents don't do it well and it sucks.
The idea of an existence where I avoided the hard things that brought the most joy and left nothing behind is sad to me. We are all free to choose, though.
