You've really gone all in with your hot takes, trolling, and edginess.

I hope you lose about 4 fingernails in 2024 due to being smashed.... But all of them separated by a month or 2.

Good luck, douche.

Good luck to all!

(I'm a moderate/light drinker, so I'm not partaking this year.)

This is remarkable. How do u do it?

I’d like to get on your level since I know I’m an alcoholic with the disease throughout my family bloodlines.

Meditation and studying Buddhism works for me. And I think that coming to the realisation that I needed to learn to embrace boredom and live with it was the biggest factor.

I have no tips for that part, as I think that just having the realisation is what did it for me. I no longer mind being bored and go looking for ways to not be bored anymore.

But I've noticed that I no longer get stressed out like I used to and no longer let stupid, little things bother me as much since I've stopped drinking and drugs.

Give AA a try. It's not for me, but it is a valuable tool. I prefer walks and meditation on my own, but do recognise that some need a group for support.

In the end, it's your journey. You have to build your own raft to get to the other shore. Just remember that. Others can give you the tools to build it, but don't cling to something that you feel isn't for you just because it works for someone else. Keep what works, let go of what doesn't.

In. I probably won't go the whole month, but I definitely need to take a break. Between vacation 10/31-11/7 and the holidays, my liver definitely needs some time off. Even just two weeks off is extremely helpful for preventing liver damage later on

The amount of mental clarity you get from just a week dry is fantastic.

Took me a couple months cause I was REAL BAD. But fought through it and I’m on top of the world mentally… no meetings, no rehab, just the grace of god and good ole will power.

Thought I would bump this for those baws and bawettes still hanging tough. No more weekends and the finish line is within sight! Does anyone have any interesting side effects to report? Ill go first...

My avg resting HR at night while sleeping has dropped from 58 to 51, I've lost ten pounds, and my will to live has basically been sucked from my body.

Sobriety has been pretty awesome this month. Alcohol really is a poison.

My most challenging night was for my Mardi Gras ball. I failed last year on that weekend, so once I cleared that hurdle, it’s been smooth sailing. I already exercise and try to eat right, but it made dropping the few extra pounds of holiday weight easy.

My anniversary was on the 28th so I decided to have some drinks and enjoy some kid-free time with the wife. Worth it. I've lost a couple of pounds, and feel like I'm a better dad.

Don't generally miss booze. Think I'll be scaling back drinking a whole lot.

I'm going to keep going. Don't know if I'll make it past mardi gras, but we'll see. I'd like to do a full three months.

I've lost 3 pounds, which is a lot for a small guy like me.
