That part of Jackson (Ridgeland) used to be pretty safe and nice. But that has really changed the last five years. Drago’s near that trampoline shoot park used to be my favorite restaurant in Jackson. But now security patrols the parking lot and the restaurant itself has gone way downhill. Many there are trying to escape even further north towards Madison.

There are several Urban Air parks in DFW and one of my kids had a membership. I really liked it because it stayed open way longer than most businesses during the scamdemic. The place is always understaffed and the people working there are teens who don’t really care anyway. The place is really a throwback to a place where kids could go and have fun without much supervision. Helicopter parenting wasn’t even possible because of the loud music and mayhem.

So, I took my daughter to a birthday party at the Urban Air in Little Rock last year. My nephew wanted to play the above pictured Gladiator game with some random kid. When they squared off, the other kid wacked my nephew with that nerf spear and he fell straight down and hammered his nuts on that beam. I've never laughed so hard in my life. The look on his face as he sank down in those nerf blocks still makes me laugh.

And an earlier thread in the OT had the nerve to complain that ”Young people lament that society is collapsing because they don't have another place (“third places”) to gather in anymore”.
