We have a very bad history when population in Florida was very low

It had more to do with having Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer as coaches than it did population. If anything, Urban’s teams shrunk the population.

For the last five years Florida has had ongoing record population yet the Florida Gators have had a losing record in four of those five seasons. Not since Urban has Florida been consistently good. That was 15 years ago - when Florida’s population was 5 million less than it is now. To put that in perspective Florida added more people during that time than the following states had in total population in 2025: Louisiana, Arkansas. Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Kentucky. It has not helped their football program.

Deboer has been a P4 coach 4 seasons. He has made his conference championship game and the college play offs twice each.

There are lots of coaches in the SEC who have never played in one P4 championship games. I believe only three current coaches have appeared in multiple games.

I was a Saints and a Braves fan long before it was cool

Did you graduate from the New Orleans Saints or the Atlanta Braves? Or are you a sidewalk fan?
Literally everyone in this thread but a couple of LSU fans (who would argue that water is not wet if an Alabama fan said it was) have agreed that Saban didn’t just let assistants speak with the media - Kiffin or otherwise. He kept all of them on a short leash and they could only speak when he allowed them to. Thus my comments in the first post about short leashes and children. There is a difference between letting someone do something - that implies it is their decision to make, and telling someone to do something - clearly not their decision. Saban didn’t let any assistants speak with the media. He told them when they were going to speak and what they were going to say.
Of my last 20 posts, you were the first reply to 11 of them. And you replied practically immediately to 10 of them. You are quick, 10 of the replies were within 0-4 minutes, while the other you must have been screaming at your mom that you like the crusts cut off your sandwich because it took 7 minutes.

You stalk after me. It is obsessive/compulsive behavior. Very weird. You wouldn’t ever do anything but whimper like a stray puppy, but it is still bizarre to watch.

The worst thing anyone can do is engage with you. That is my fault and I will have to stop. You are truly the ruptured septic tank of the SEC Rant.

Posts Within The Last 24 Hours (as of 3:00 PM CST, according to Grok)

SideWalkTiger: 63

We have three options. One, Grok is wrong. Two, you are lying. Three, Grok is wrong and you are lying.

You can go look at all of a user’s posts. They are time/date stamped. There are 20 posts per page. So it is easy to get a good idea of how compulsively someone has been posting. I didn’t count the exact number, but when I made that comment you had 5 pages of posts in the previous 24 hours. 5x20=100.

He started 4 different LSU troll threads on Christmas Day

You can’t say I’ve never given you feral swamp creatures a Christmas present.
You were at over 100 posts in the past 24 hours before this thread. This has become like watching Barry Bonds chasing the home-run record. Every time you blink there goes another one.

I'm betting you two are good for another 10 pages, at least.

I wonder how many times the very first reply to one of my posts has been from Sidewalk. My calculator only goes to 11 places and I don’t want to have to try to remember scientific notation.
You are struggling. I didn’t say Kiffin never spoke with the media. I said Saban didn’t just let him. Saban told Kiffin when he would speak to the media and what he would say. It wasn’t optional, it wasn’t Kiffin’s decision one way or the other.

We are almost on page three, I am trying to help you from embarrassing yourself even further.

It just seems like every time the SECr gets opened, there’s another thread about something Kiffin said or did

The solution would be for Kiffin not to say and do stupid and/or insulting and/or juvenile things seemingly every day.

Lane Kiffin just threw shade. Again. This time it seems to be at Nick Saban, the man Kiffin owes for not being stuck in purgatory as a QB coach at Fresno State for the rest of his life.

I don’t know that any of us have ever seen an SEC head coach that is as juvenile and self-destructive as Lane Kiffin. Lately he has been a walking, talking train wreck and people can’t help but talk about that.

Assistants aren't "sounding off to the media whenever they feel like it" at any school

Thank you for confirming what I posted, that Saban kept Kiffin on a short leash and didn’t allow Kiffin to speak with the media except when Saban told him to.

Why don’t you tell us?

Sure, no problem. This thread jogged my memory.

Saban only let assistants talk to the media at certain pre-approved times and they had a pre-approved outline or script to follow. That was so that a coach would not become a distraction or say something that would hurt or embarrass the program.

Now he's making a desperate attempt to salvage yet another shite thread

Yep, every thread you participates in becomes a shite thread.
The most amazing thing about all those pre-approved monologues is that Kiffin didn’t completely derail himself. He didn’t become a bigger story than the team. It is amazing at the difference between then and now.
So you are saying assistants couldn’t sound off to the media whenever they felt like it like Pedantic is implying?
