I don’t trust cat people.

they make automatic litter boxes. they have a motion sensor so after the cat leaves, it rakes and deposits the deposits in a tray or bag ready to be dumped. LINK
more then one cat can be a bit much and require daily emptying of the box but with just one cat you only have to empty the litter box every 3 or 4 days

I’m allergic to cats so I’m not a fan

My cat wither goes outside or uses the toilet.

There is only a fraction "to do" with a cat, as opposed to a dog.

I have yet to figure out why cats get such a bad rap.
They can be really bad arse

As long as the cat gets to do the same thing, at the same time, every day it will be ok. They are the best example of creatures of habit that God ever created.

Well yeah. They are a miniature tiger.

Dogs are better for sure, but there are trade offs. Can leave a cat alone for 3-4 days. Dogs need to be let out twice or more a day.
Your OP is a bit hyperbolic. Cats are generally easy. Scooping a litter box aint that horrible.
That said...yes...dogs are better in most ways.
No reason you cant have or like both.

My cat is awesome. She loves getting pet, never scratches or bites, loves catching her little rope toy thing when I play with her, keeps the rats away, and most importantly craps in the neighbors yard. That being said, my old cat was a completely different story. He was an a-hole.

I agree. Never had an indoor cat until the wife went and adopted one from the SPCA about 10 years ago now. She is spayed, doesn't give us any crap, used her litter box that one of us will clean out daily and that takes all of about 2 minutes time.
No need to walk them, bathe them and just a few minutes a day is all the grooming they need if you want to get into that since they pretty much groom themselves.
We brush her to get a heads up on shedding as the seasons change but that's about it.

Simple. They all live in the barn.

I trained my indoor cat to use the bathroom outside.

I will always miss my dogs, but my cats are awesome.
As much personality, but they give me independence

Cats are also no where near as needy as dogs plus wet dog is a putrid odor.
