This morning I learned cat people are night owls and LOVE to use the voting feature on TD.

Cats are way easier than dogs.
True there's a litter box, but that's it.
No having to walk them, they're self cleaning, they don't bark loudly
Only poor people have to walk dogs. All I have to do for any of my animals is open the door for them.

I’ve had cats for years, they found me, not the reverse.
This is my litter box process:
Buy large bag of clay litter, pour in can, keep bag
When litter box is wet and dirty/stinks (3-4 days) pour dirty litter in bag, wash box with water hose & soap, dry in sun, having several litter boxes helps. When bag is 3/4 full close it, tape with duct tape put bag in garbage. It is a process but it works.
For anyone considering getting a cat, beware they are destructive, will destroy your furniture but do not have them declawed, that’s cruel.
We our dogs and cats are gone, I’m done.
PS my cats are outside most of day, will come in and use litter box! Grrrr

What's with the people in here not cleaning the litter box daily. I clean mine probably twice a day or whenever she goes in it.
It takes 30 seconds.
Leaving piss and shite in the box for days is lazy and a dick move to your animal

I can guarantee you the litter box stinks. It may not be rancid, but it stinks. I don’t care if you clean it every time he shits and you buy the best litter ever made. The litter box stinks.
Have dated two girls who were cat owners. Both said the same thing and as soon as I went over to their house for the first time I could tell there was a litter box inside. Cat piss is one of the worst smells out there and shite is shite, doesn’t matter what litter box you have.

Glad you’re able to monitor the box so closely, mine have ample opportunity to go outside if the don’t like it

You're doing a disservice to your animal leaving crap and pee in the box for days

Frick a cat. I have two of them that came with my wife. After they go, I’ll never have another one. Absolutely worthless.
Now my German Shepherd, wouldn’t trade her for the world. Not sure how you could put a dog like that side by side with a cat and say “yeah, I’d rather the cat”.

I will always miss my dogs, but my cats are awesome. As much personality, but they give me independence
I had dogs most of my life for as far back as I can remember but haven't had one since we had to put down my wife's Cocker Spaniel that came with her when we got married.
I really don't miss picking up dog shite, brown spots in the lawn where they piss regularly and paths worn down to the mud where they run around the yard.
