I do wonder what the end game is.
There will always be a demand for drugs. Somebody will fill the void to supply them no matter what happens. Too much money involved.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt now announced and confirmed, following today’s military operation in Mexico which resulted in the elimination of CJNG Cartel leader El Mencho, carried out by the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense. That the operation was carried out with intelligence support from the United States, with her stating:
“The United States provided intelligence support to the Mexican government in order to assist with an operation in Talpalpa, Jalisco, Mexico, in which Nemesio ‘El Mencho’ Oseguera Cervantes, an infamous drug lord and leader within the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, was eliminated. ‘El Mencho’ was a was a top target for the Mexican and United States government as one of the top traffickers of fentanyl into our homeland. Last year, President Trump rightfully designated the Jalisco New Generation Cartel as a Foreign Terrorist Organization — because that’s exactly what it is. In this operation, three additional cartel members were killed, three were wounded, and two were arrested.
President Trump has been very clear — the United States will ensure narcoterrorists sending deadly drugs to our homeland are forced to face the wrath of justice they have long deserved.
The Trump Administration also commends and thanks the Mexican military for their cooperation and successful execution of this operation.”

If we unleashed an entire division or two of marines, it would be very very quickly. Those idiots think they’re bad asses because they bully unarmed. Citizens, a weak and unmotivated military. And they’ve had the help of the government.
The cartel would dissolve in the face of the US military. If they chose to stand and fight, maybe 4 weeks tops. That’s what needs to happen.

"The Cartel" isnt a uniformed state funded military. Its an economy. You cant kill it or disband it in that sense.
As long as drugs are illegal and people want them, "the cartel" will exist. Names and locations will change, but it will exist. Being an economy built on illegal activities, it will always be filled with bad people.
The only way you kill it is make their products legal (they couldnt compete with wal mart) or make people not want drugs (lol).

If they're smart they'll keep it that way.

It wouldn't be easy or quick. There's over 10k members of this cartel alone, but they're not even as big as Senaloa. They're also spread out over every Mexican state and city and have protection from some local governments, military members, and officials. It would be almost impossible to identify every member, stalk their locations, and take them out without killing a LOT of innocent civilians.
The US Special Forces alone would absolutely obliterate the Cartel with a quickness. Doesn’t matter how spread out they are. Intel would identify every top leader easy. They aren’t worried about the cartel soldiers. Let the Mexican military handle the scraps

I suggested a few pages ago to unleash the III Armored Corps. From a force projection and logistics standpoint, this is the unit to send in.
1st Infantry Division
1st Cavalry Division
1st Armored Division
3rd Cavalry Regiment
75th Artillery Brigade
36th Engineer Brigade
(Plus all the combat support units needed to sustain the line units)
They could also easily be augmented by 3rd and 4th Infantry Divisions. And that’s not even counting 10th Infantry or 11th, 101st and 82nd Airborne. There are also National Guard units like the 28th, 29th, 34th, 35th, 36th, 38th 40th, an 42nd Infantry Divisions.
III Armored Corps a self sufficient and highly lethal force capable of large scale combined arms operations like turning all of northern Mexico into a modern day Carthage post Roman conquest.

I'm convinced some of you retards think "the cartel" is a workplace that has a company uniform and reports to work Monday through Friday from 9-5
Anybody that thinks it's just as simple as using "military technology" to identify and take out tens of thousands of people at all levels - from your common street dealer to the chief of police on the cartel payroll, to corrupt government officials - has never been military or law enforcement. This is not something you can just "eliminate targets" your way out of.
Our best defense that would put a serious strain on cartel operations would be to lock down our borders and coasts at all costs. The Southern border would need to be impenetrable and coasts heavily guarded with serious firepower. You take away the American drug market and that puts a bigger damper on the cartels than killing 100s of their leaders.

Don't think you realize just how embedded the cartel is at all levels of government throughout Mexico.
Narco state.
You can’t even grow avocados down there unless you make a deal with the cartels.
Hell they punch holes in pipelines and otherwise tap oil transports and sell it.
