We had the momentum in the 2nd half until little Reggie went full retard.

That was a solid Razorback squad sans passing game. Defense was stout, offense had DMAC, Felix, Monk, Hillis(didn't play in SECC game).

Offense is going to need some work.

Our spacing isn't good at times. We have too many guys that want to dribble into traffic with no plan. PASS THE BALL.
Few more thoughts.

- Jordan Smith... If the coaches can get his foot work more squared when he pulls up, his shooting percentage will go up. I noticed on most of his misses, he wasn't quite squared up, was falling off to one side. On the one three he did make, he got his feet and shoulders nice and square.

He's not Darius. Completely different player. MUCH better defender/rebounder, more physical around rim. Not going to shy away from contact. So he will have a similar overall impact on the team, just not as pure a shooter as Darius was. His passing looked fine. Hopefully Cal will get him to emphasize getting to the FT line. He has the mentality to do so.

- Toure... has more of a fundamental 3pt/2pt shooting form. Squares everything up and really drives his legs up and thru. Will be tough to block his shot.

He shoots the gaps well on defense and offense. Will get a lot of steals, run out dunks, and offensive rebounds. Really explosive and can go up and block shots when plays break down and he's last line of defense.

Reminds me of a better shooting version of Jordan Walsh.

- JJ showed a lot. Offensively he was effective shooting and driving to the bucket. Only thing he needs to work on is his patience. Had a few unforced turnovers do to him getting in a rush. I like that he wants to get to the rim, but sometimes he would be better off just shooting the ball when the defender is off of him.

Active on defense.. had 3 steals. Will have to stay out of foul trouble.

- Wilkinson can obviously hit 3's at a high clip and percentage. Curious to see how he will be used this year because Jordan is going to be primary ball handler.

Not sure how effective he will be on defense. He's a little undersized. I think if he's able to just keep the ball in front of him he will be fine.

- Thompson has abillity to knock several down as well. I just worry about his youth and decision making. He's got talent, just a little undersized like Wilkinson.

As far as the big men go..

- Maker had the biggest impact. IMO he needs to be #1 in that department. He can move, really works for position down low on both sides. High motor and shows some great fundamentals on both sides of court. Can be a 10/10 type player and average 3/4 blocks a game. His length is going to be important for us. We just have to keep him out of foul trouble.

- Bowser didn't impress. Yes he is super athletic, somewhat long, but when he was guarding someone with ball in post he struggled to stop them.

- Frolov showed some promise. Had some real nice rebounds, didn't get pushed around. He just is a little slow, and gave up a couple buckets on defense in the post.

- Ourigou really impressed me for only being here 10 days. He really showed aggression when he got the ball in the post. He wants to be physical and dunk the ball. Not sure if he will get huge minutes this year, but I love his mentality.

When Miikka is added to that group of players this team will be tough to beat if they play defense.

Going off what I've seen so far starting line up should be..

Jordan Smith
Abdou Toure or Wilkinson
Billy Richmond
Miikka Muurinen or JJ Andrews
Maper Maker

I know we didn't get to see Miikka play, but a guy with that much skill set is going to start. Too long and athletic to be on the bench long. Trevon's replacement.

Then you've got Bowser, Thompson, Toure, Andrews, Ourigou, Frolov, Wilkinson ready to roll.

Honestly, this will be the deepest Arkansas team in history. So much talent, and Cal will have plenty of options. Hopefully everyone will accept their roll. But i see minutes for just about everyone.

Frolov, while slower, showed some physicality on the glass.

BUT.. his feet are stuck in mud sometimes. Gave up two baskets down low.
Guards are active on defense. Love that.

Bowser is struggling on defense. Frolov, while slower, showed some physicality on the glass. Made a great pass, and had a nice offensive rebound putback.

Yep and they will play defense unlike last year.

Bowser aint it down low on defense.

Hopefully they'll let the young Ourigou play. He's the only "BIG" that plays that way from film.

Same here.

I appreciate everything he did for Arkansas. I was fairly upset when he left because I believed in him that much. It didn't help that DIPSHIT Yurachek posted that video. So ridiculous.

But he's gone now, and Calipari is a HOF coach. I just hope Cal can find a special group of kids and take us back to the promise land.

We have some retards also. Like what the frick was that?
We struggle making clean passes. When we do make a good pass, we can't do anything with it.
All I know is there was some old crazy SOB screaming that he did it immediately after the shot. Acting like a lunatic.

Why on earth was that guy at the event, and why in the hell did he behave like that?

Just freaking weird.

And another thing, why did they pour a slab over the crime scene less than a week after it happened? In what world is that considered normal?

It has been a painful experience, sans 94.

Kind of amazing all the ways we've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Oh well.. Here's to next year!

I just watched it, and I was pleasantly surprised.

It wasn't perfect, but damn it felt like a real Mortal Kombat flick. Much better than the first one.

Looking forward to the 3rd installment.

If we are not a great defensive team I haven’t done my job! We are physical, should be a great shot blocking team (at all 5 positions) and we have dogs! LETS GOOO

Well, if that's the case. Kenny Payne is gonna have to actually work or it's all for not. Worst post defense I've seen in quite some time last year. I'm talking TRASH. His record at Louisville was flat out embarrassing.

Also, the guards have to play SOUND defense. Not just erratic defense we saw last year.

FUNDAMENTALS are what separates good teams from GREAT teams.
Don't know. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Me and my buddies are taking our annual football trip to the Vandy game this year. It's been awhile since I've been to Nashvegas. I'm looking forward to the trip.
Disagreement is fine guys. It at least shows that we all care about the program.

Hopefully Cal will take us to the promise land one more time.

Always figured Cal would win us a bunch of draft championships and never an actual national championship.

IMO if he were to get some new assistants, specifically ones that could make defense as important as offense, he would improve the odds of winning it all.

I just feel like he has a bunch of yes men around him, and not ones that are motivated to do more than whats asked.

Kenny Payne is supposedly the "BIG MAN" coach. But nothing I saw this year indicates he did any sort of coaching. I mean I couldn't believe how bad our big men were on defense. They were failing at the most fundamental shite that most kids learn in high school. Just look at the dudes record at Louisville...

Only you.

Not starting to start a shite storm in here, but I honestly believe that if he was given the resources he would have won a championship here.

Keep in mind this is MY OPINION, you all don't have to agree. And if you do I'm not going to throw a hissy fit about it. It's life.

I'm happy with Cal so far. I, just like all of you, want to win it all. If Cal does it then we can all rekindle our younger selves when we were on top of the world.

I know he’s a tool but why not let bequette get involved? I know he’s into politics and that may not be a good look but shite it can’t get much worse. I don’t know what could be worse than Chad Morris.

Too many folks up on the hill are comfortable wallowing in mediocrity.

As long as the money is flowing they could give two shits.

We have a fricking culture of losing and people who did or could donate are losing interest fast or already have.

With football I'm already there.

With basketball I'm stoked we are back in the national spotlight again, but I have my doubts about Calipari winning a championship. I thought Musselman was a much better x's and o's guy, and was all about the analytics. But for reasons I'm not privy to knowing, he's gone. Cal at least keeps the brand strong. Maybe he will prove me wrong.

Baseball is the one sport we actually stand a legitimate chance to win it all. So this year was pretty disheartening the way things started, and unfortunately ended. We did get better 2nd half of season, but fell flat in Lawrence.

It's insane what the program continues to endure.

What's the old saying... "it could always be worse".

Hopefully we win a championship before we get to that many appearances without one.
