Knox with a quiet 11 points

Second chance points and that one three. Figures he makes the hardest shot he took all day, but didn't make the wide open ones.

This is one of those games where we should be winning by 20 but have had 0 energy the entire game.

It would help if Brazile or Knox would hit an open look.

But we are playing against a physical team and we are exerting a lot of effort on defense/rebounding/ball pressure/pr defense. Takes a tole on you.

Knox just can't make an open look.

I don't know if it's a confidence issue or what. He has a nice jumper.

Same with Brazile.

If one of those two plays to their average this game is already over.

This is the least talented Barnes VOLS team I remember seeing.

I think you all have a lot of good players that play their roles well.

And as physical/disciplined as you all play you wont ever be out of a game.

Knox is a good player, just needs to make some open looks.

Man, we need Brazile or Knox to do something.

They both aren't playing worth a shite.

They have gotten second chance points, but they haven't made shite when they take open shots.

Man we can be so damn lazy and careless.
In a game where we aren't shooting well at all, we cannot just turn the ball over being stupid.

Shots will fall, just don't turn it over.
Shots aren't falling early for the hogs and we're tied.

Hopefully the shooting percentage will improve. Missed several open looks.
I'm glad Meleek got into a little better rhythm with his shot tonight, but he's taken 16 shots and has zero assists, and only 2 rebounds.

Acuff is the best player we've had in a loooong time.

Just from the beginning of the year to right now he has improved so much.

Looks like a pro, plays like a pro.

He knows he can score on anyone but he always makes the right pass when he could have taken the shot.

Need Thomas to become less selfish and he will improve. Yes he can score, but he takes a lot of contested shots that aren't what we need.

Come to think of it, we need him to be like Moses Moody was for us. He's got a similar size and skill set. Good shooter that isn't the most explosive player on the court. Can make a tough shot if necessary, but if he can learn to put the team first he will be more lucrative to NBA teams.

Not that surprising to me. That Tech team is good. We just played an A game vs them and played a D vs Houston

Yep, we played great against Tech.

Houston took it to us early due to our reckless passing/ball handling that led to 9 turnovers and 14 points off those turnovers for the bad guys early in 1st half. I remember seeing a graphic that showed those 14 points off turnovers and 6 second chance points for Houston. Our column had 0 and 0.

We made some defensive adjustments and starting jumping the ball handler out top which slowed them down significantly, but we never could get that 10-12 pt run after we got it to around 10 point deficit.

You add that to the ridiculous(uncharacteristic) shooting percentages for Houston and you get that result.

Do I think they are a much better team than us? No... But they are definitely more aggressive and seasoned than our bunch.

Hopefully by the end of SEC play our kids will have learned how to win these physical type games.
Turnovers put us in the hole early.

Fought back to within striking distance rest of way but couldn’t close the gap.

Pringle 0 PTS 2 Reb 0 AST 1 Turnover and ZERO FOULS. Joke. Like I said in a different thread, he’s a major bust.

Brazile 5 pts on 1-3 shooting not gonna cut it. Needed him to get more involved

Knox 3 pts on 1-6 and only 2 rebounds not gonna cut it.

8 total points from 3 high minute players is gonna lose games like that majority of time.

At least Meleek has 6 ast.

He's not been shooting well last couple games.

I dunno if Sealy is ever gonna get much PT here. He's going to have to develop a ton.

IMO he's got enough natural talent to get there.

Cal has spoken highly of him, but that he's just a little behind the other guys right now.

I've seen enough athleticism and aggression out of him to give me hope.

Too early to call a bust imo

I just expected a lot more from him.

Maybe in SEC play he will prove me wrong.. which I will gladly accept.

Pringle with 8 pts in the half and posting up is encouraging

I mean... it still is way too hard for him to get a bucket against smaller competition.

He's a bust.. Just hope that he can get rebounds and play good defense when he gets PT.
If this team can continue to improve on rebounding and defensive rotations the sky is the limit.

Ewin is going to be an important piece of our potential growth. I like that he can score around the basket, now if we can get him to be more of a defensive force watch out.

I'm not sure what to do with Pringle. He has been disappointing. If he was giving us 8-10 ppg and 5-10 reb it would be different. He is just a big body that cannot score, and cannot defend any opposing big that has a smidge of talent.
Kentucky looking better.

Playing good defense has led to offense.
