They typically give those awards to the newest and most innovative trucks...in that regard the Tacoma is pretty basic, so I could see why they ranked it at the bottom with the Frontier. Doesn't mean it's a bad truck, just means it didn't "wow" them, but I don't think that's Toyotas aim with their vehicles anyway.

I understand that the front ends on most of these "trucks" are shared by other vehicles in their respective lineup, but this is just too much.

IIRC, the Ridgeline is the most American made car on the market. It is assembled here, and something like 80% of the parts are made here.
That being said, why would you trust a car magazine to rate trucks? I think my four wheeler can tow that much

I would bet the majority of truck owners really only need a "commuter" truck for what they do.

I am constantly speeding around full size trucks that slow for road conditions and train tracks and stuff. I find most people in large trucks drive like they are Lamborghinis and will bottom out. I drive like a bat out of hell and never hit the brakes unless i want to stop.

FWIW, I have a 2006 Ridgeline with 156K miles. I have done nothing but routine and scheduled maintenance on it. I like the special features like the trunk in the bed and dual opening tailgate. No, I don't tow anything and I rarely haul stuff, but when I need a truck, I've got one. The back seat has plenty of room for three adults and it rides pretty well. I got it because it was consistently rated #1 in its class by Consumer Reports. I don't need to project my masculinity, or, as some of you might say, lack thereof, to the world. It's not for everybody. But, when the time comes, I'll get another Ridgeline. One word of warning if you're considering one. You will pay sticker or leave empty-handed. In my opinion, it's well worth it.

Nice civic interior. Honda is sooo dumb. I own said wanna be truck. the ride is decent. The truck has a golf cart sized gas tank. older models had a 20 gallon tank, the new ones have a 19.5. If you tow an average sized boat (18' bass boat) good luck getting over 200 miles per tank. Biggest flaw by honda by far. Do not buy this truck unless you live by where you fish. otherwise, plan on making a fair amount of stops. and when youre off the main roads where most lakes are...have fun finding conveniently located gas stations

also, the old ridgeline had a 5000lb tow rating...so looks like they cut back on that. would not recommend for tournament bass fishermen.
