If your needs fall within the capacities of the Ridgeline, it's an excellent vehicle. It's a typical Honda, which means it's very roomy for it's size and features excellent ride and handling. I know people that use the previous generation model to tow their bass boat all the time.
IMO the new model, while more "minivanish" up front still looks better than the original.
Actually I tried to build a Tacoma online and most versions tow less than the 5,000 lb capacity the Ridgeline has. The Canyon and Colorado can tow up to 7700 lbs though, which just seems irresponsible with the shorter wheelbase models.

The new models can be had with front wheel drive, which has a 3500 lb rating. All wheel drive models still have a 5000 lb rating, which is higher than most Tacoma configurations.

The Colorado LTZ is nice, it's just really little. I work where a majority of daily drivers are trucks, and guys park their full sized trucks all around his for fun. He is mocked ad nauseam.

Put an older Toyota or Datsun "truck" or a Mazda B2000 next to a brand new dually 3500HD 8ft bed, and they look like toy trucks

My dad recently traded in his F-250 after like 10 months for a new King Ranch. First time I rode in it he was going on and on about all the crazy shite they have in trucks now (I drive a 2012 F-150 and it's crazy how much new shite are inside them now). First thing he showed me was the lane keep assist. He was like a kid in a candy shop.

Yep, that's what happened. It was a '93 Jimmy with a 5th wheel receiver jury-rigged onto the tailgate with a trailer attached to it that was lifting the Jimmy's front wheels off of the ground.

Yeah, I thought they were ridiculous when I got my truck but now I wish I had the adaptive cruise control too.
