I too drive a Ridgeline. Handed down to me from my dad.
2006 - 270,000 miles on it. Mostly just regular maintenance other than new oil pan(just did that) and a CV axle. Otherwise the thing still has a ton more miles left on it.
As far as hauling, I'd wage that most people that own a truck don't use theirs to the full potential and that the Ridgeline would serve their needs just fine.
When my dad owned it, he towed a 5th wheel cross country for over 75k of these miles without any trouble. With that said, my dad did eventually "upgrade" to a truck with more hauling capability for a bigger 5th wheel at that time.
I don't use it near in the capacity though commonly haul things around. Wish the bed was bigger, but other my Ridgeline is just fine.
When I finally ditch this truck I may consider the new Ridgeline though I've always like tacomas as well.

Unless they've changed it. Spare in the bottom of the bed. The trunk still has a ton of room for suitcases or the what not.

Do any other trucks offer these features? My company vehicle is a Subaru Outback, and I absolutely love the adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and collision avoidance. I wont buy a truck in the future unless it has these features. (I'm sure they all will soon)
I love I can drive thru miles of stop and go traffic and never touch the gas or brake. The adaptive cruise locks onto the car in front and does all the work. Its a very nice feature.

Really? My truck has a manual transmission and I use my brain for all of that stuff. It works automatically.

I have a full size truck and live in the city of New Orleans. The crappy streets, the tight spaces, the parallel parking... Man I think I'm ready for a change! My suspension is shot!
I might have to check out the Ridgeline, or perhaps a different midsize truck. That truck bed trunk does look cool.

Sure. Don't know why it's a downside on the Ridgeline. Buying a vehicle meets your needs seems prudent to me

Try it before you knock it. All these new trucks have become luxury vehicles anyway, might as well get the extra features since people are paying more dollars just to be in the truck segment then any other segment.
My commute includes I-35 thru downtown Austin, so at least five miles of under 25mph stop and go traffic. The adaptive cruise is a real nice feature to have everyday. It does a smoother job with the traffic then most drivers can do constantly jamming on their brakes.

I don't think there is any way he meant to say fifth wheel.
In reality what he could pull would be around a 20 foot bumper pull travel trailer. Those things are around 3500 to 4000 pounds. I've never seen a small fifth wheel.

Ridgeline - I like the interior, but the exterior styling is too much like the Honda Minivan and Pilot. With all wheel drive, it tows as much as a Tacoma.
Colorado/Canyon - Awesome trucks, but I'd get the Duramax diesel model. They tend to sticker shock people. The size and scale of a full sized truck from 15-20 years ago.
Tacoma - Reliable, decent off road....but rides like shite and looks even worse. Step up to the Tundra and avoid all of that.
Frontier - Old school, probably the best choice if you need a work truck for a good price or just some 4x4 pickup to drive out on your land.

For what you say, most people don't need more than a Ford Fiesta, yet people drive many other things. It's just silly to act like you know what people need, and to care about what they drive in general.
