For 2 decades people have said "this is a college campus thing."
Well know those kids are on diversity boards at banks and shutting down STEM labs and forcing employees to take the day to think about systemic racism.
They got out of the asylum. We'll have to reach a critical mass where enough people in enough positions that matter tell these mindless children to STFU in order to let the "cancellations" lose their steam.
Or we'll have to beat them in some other way, which is a more horrifying proposition.

They gained so much power because pussies like Drew Brees bend over backwards to apologize to them

Don't worry, (or maybe we should worry), things will go back to the way they were once we start again seeing all the crime,etc committed as it's been.
Crime committed by blacks is one of the biggest causes of racial issues in America, because whites don't want to trust some blacks. In turn, blacks won't trust whites because of the arresting of these criminals. It's a perpetual cycle.
Until blacks, and whites, too, raise their children to really know right from wrong, teach them no one owes them anything, and hard work will yield results, society will not be able to be changed and improved

I lean left but I cannot stand "cancel culture"....it's counterproductive and un-American. Art, especially given the way it's used to capture certain moments in time, should never be touched. We can't turn into book burners. We can't ruin livelihoods over differing opinions, regardless of the topic.
The Jake Fromm deal, where a friend had held onto text messages for 2+ years, should not have happened. That was a personal conversation without context, thrust into the public eye as a "gotcha", and his reputation suffered. That's bullshite. Drew Brees was simply expressing his opinion and even got very personal in explaining why he feels the way he does. He shouldn't have been attacked for that opinion.
That said, there are a couple on that list that deserved to be fired. James Bennet wasn't fired over a headline, he was fired due to his employees pitching a fit about publishing Tom Cotton's op-ed about using active duty military against protesting civilians...it was an irresponsible decision and a viewpoint that shouldn't have been given the light of day by a reputable news organization. Grant Napear had a long history of saying racist things about a league made up largely of black people...he should've known better. TMObile has stopped advertising on Tucker Carlson's show...that's completely appropriate for a company who wants to sell phones to minorities to do.

When you give everyone a platform to publicly voice their private views, they're able to find a tribe of similar thinkers on a larger scale than they could have before social media.
When you give a few of the loudest people a voice it doesn't matter how ridiculous their views are, they're able to attack anyone in the world for not sharing those views.
If 10,000 people attack Celebrity John Doe on Social media, then he and others probably think "Wow, EVERYONE is attacking me, I must change my views"
But MILLIONS more could believe his views are perfectly fine, yet they're silent on social media, because they don't want the 10,000 to turn on them as well.
This is why "the silent majority" will always be dangerous to the social media mob mentality. They're not going anywhere. They're just quiet so as not to ruin their lives and careers. But come November, they'll remember all this and remember how despicable it was.

Your entire post is a prime example of the typical person who thinks they're a moderate but are no different than the people they claim to not want to be associated with. You're not the moderate you think you are if you think someone should be fired because they let a sitting member of congress post an article about how they would invoke a law that's been around for 200 years and used 20 times in the past, including 3 times by the left's benevolent JFK and once by saint FDR. You're just as much the problem as the assholes who are forcing Drew Brees to dance like the court jester.

In response to millennial crybabies, the NYT concocted lies about how it didn't meet their editorial standards. Bennet should have been fired for cowering to a dishonest mob and then responding by lying to the public.
