That’s really not a lot of push ups, just to be that much healthier. There’s really no excuse for anyone out there.

I don’t think it means if you can build up to doing that many then your risk drops that much. I think it’s more like those who are at lower risk generally also have BMIs/muscle mass that allows them to do 40 pushups. Doesn’t have to do with the push-ups. Has to do with push-ups as a proxy for general health

Nope. I don't think I've ever been able to do one. My arms are as long as a chimpanzee. I did once do 75 sit-ups in a minute, though.

Pull-ups are hard for me. If I had a skinny lower body, no prob. Push-ups are much easier.

But that isn't max speed training. It's interval training. Not the same.

I've done plenty of interval training, but I honestly don't know the last time I did only sprint type work at 100% recovery.

How many can you do? When is the last time you were able to do one?

Benchmark week for me, so did max strict pull-ups on Monday.

9 was my max. Last two were struggling, but I got there.

It reminds me of men who drink 2 drinks per day live longer. Look, if you have the self control to drink 2 drinks per day and that is it then you probably are doing a lot of other healthy arse shite.

I'm older. Shoulders are shot. I can walk miles but no pull-ups for me.

I read this this morning and have no idea bc it’s been a long time since I have ever done one. And last time I tried I couldn’t do one. Not even close but that was about 35# or so ago.

So I tired today at gym out of curiosity. I did 7 from dead hang. 7 full legit ones and almost had 8 but couldn’t get it. I was really surprised and actually impressed myself. 6’3” and weigh 205 currently.
