I am bored AF at work. How many can you do? When is the last time you were able to do one? What physical feat are you proud of?

I read recently, maybe from here, that there is a direct correlation between the ability to do about 40 push-ups and cardiovascular health. Some long-term study on firemen. Thought it was pretty cool. Apparently, if you can do 40 push-ups, your risk for cardiovascular disease drops some ridiculous amount. I want to say 98% less likely.

My guess, 25ish real unbroken pullups. I haven't done a max set in a long time, but I did 5 sets of 15 banded on Monday as an accessory exercise.

Did 25 pull ups, 25 chin ups, 100 push ups, and ran 2 miles yesterday.

That’s really not a lot of push ups, just to be that much healthier. There’s really no excuse for anyone out there.

40 real pushups unbroken isn't that easy. It's not that hard either, but you can't do it without some form of training

Cannot touch toes. Cannot do a pull up. I am basically a gelatinous blob of goo, but I've been eating better and starting to work out, so hopefully by this time next year, those answers change.

dead hang chins...12..maybe 15 on a really good day.

i really expect this thread to be full of people lying their asses off. i would say 75% of this board can do less than 3 true dead hang chins and 40-50% cant do 1.

and pushups are a great overall predictor of health but pullups/chinsups are an even better indicator as are ring pushups.

other good ones are reverse lunges(stability), reverse bear crawls(again stability and mobility) and deadlift(overall force production)

all the animal crawls are amazing indicators really.

i just want to scream...news flash a-hole, that was 15 years and 50 lbs ago.

Your post was confusing.

1, sure although I haven't tried in a long time.

I can do 40 PUSH-UPS but will regret it the next day. Had a drunk competition with my dad and brothers not long ago and did 63. The next few days were hell.

I hate exercising or working out. Thank goodness for great genetics.

I think I can still do a few pullups. And I can still touch my toes after a few seconds of stretching. I could likely do 25-30 pushups in a single set, but haven't tried a "max set" in a while.

But I'm "old" (in my 50's) and def have the dad bod rocking. I think the age qualifier needs to be in there for sure.

I can do 5 pull-ups and 35 push-ups.

I also haven’t done a push-ups consistently in 6 months. The other day I was doing some and my son (60 lbs) wanted to lay in my back and help me do push-ups. I easily did 15 and I was very pleased with myself.

Before y’all give me any shite, I know I’m out of shape and this isn’t impressive. I’m just happy with how much better I did than I thought I’d do.

Always finish my workouts with 50 pull ups, 25 neutral grip and 25 wide.

My brother and I both went to the Citadel. When we got out, my bro was at a party and some drunk dude was hassling him abut how many push ups he could do. To shut the guy up, my brother finally said to him, "Ya know, I bet I could do twice as many push-ups as you." So the guy got on his face and cranked out a whole bunch. My brother said, "Alright, here goes. 1, 2, OK. You win." If military school teaches you anything, it's work smarter, not harder.
