Can you be friends with a girl/woman and not have sexual/romantic feelings?

Serious question.
Can a guy be "platonic" friends with a girl/woman without having any sexual or romantic feelings? Or does every girl out there have guy friends that want to sleep with her?
ETA: There are a few girls I know that I'd like to be with but I'm very happy with my current GF.
This is just one of those larger than life questions I think about when I start drinking.

It's possible. I'm not good at it, but I have a buddy who has plenty of ugly female friends that he is definitely not attracted to. I always commend him on not being shallow.

I think in almost every instance of friends who are of the opposite sex, one or the other wants to bone...it may never come to that, but one of the two has some inkling of attraction for the other...
