I consider the wives of my two best friends to be very good friends on their own. I've been friends with both since before they started dating my best friends, never had sexual feelings for either, and have hung out with them both one-on-one and had fun before they were dating and since they've been married.
But I will admit that even though I'm in a long term relationship, I would bang nearly every female friend I have and I'm much less likely to give an unattractive woman a chance at friendship.

I 100% think you can.
I do think certain scenarios have to happen though.
I had some friends that were girls in college that at the time of me meeting them they were damaged from a previous relationship or some shite and I was already involved with someone else. So instead of taking the easy route and pursuing a damaged girl we just became friends and took on more of a brother and sister kinda relationship to where I watched out for her and cared for her but 100% not in a sexual way.

I've probably considered banging every girl friend I've had at some point or another. Even the less attractive ones. Come on guys...admit it. You've thought about the "not so cool or hot girls" as well.
ETA-for some reason, I seem to find I am only friends with attractive women. The rest I could give a shite about. Damn, I guess I'm shallow. Cause even the bigger girls are cute and not too big.

Only is she is ugly is the most popular response. My gf has plenty of good looking gf's I don't think she has ever left me along with them though. I think she has done this for a reason.

One of my closest friends is a woman. I hang out with her all the time. I'm also really good friends with her husband.
She's not super hot, but she's not ugly at all either. She's not outta my league, but above it for sure... Yet, I've never really had any sexual attraction towards her.
She's just a cool chick, kind of a tom boy, and we have a lot of mutual interests.
