Those are excellent points, but it assumes two things: that a boys only group doesn’t have value as being all boys and that the inclusion of girls makes it a different type of group; and that there couldn’t have been a new group established for girls with the same structure as Boy Scouts.

1) cub scouts is broken up into dens. There are boy dens. And girl dens. These are grade level specific.

2) boy scouts is broken up into troops. A troop starts at 6th grade and typically goes through high school. Troops are unisex. Boys only. Girls only.

3) Every cub scout pack (grades k-5) and boy scout troop has a Charter Organization responsible for the scouting group.
A charter organization can choose to be Boys Only. Or Girls Only. Scouting is a Federalist System. Pretty much 100% of the scouting activity for the youth is dictated by the charter organization.

4) Explorers, Venture, and Crew Scouting has been coed since the 1970s. It continues to be a coed option. Older boy scouts often choose to join one of these organizations as they do focus more on high adventure and more activities away from a charter organization (crew may meet on a lake)

People who are not involved in scouting are pretty much clueless to skyscreamers that have no idea about the history or organization of scouting.

Honestly, it was a beneficial move for society, because it caused parents to take their boys out of the scouts.

The scouts are the gayest thing in the world except for Texas A&M and the military.

Heck, the scouts basically are Texas A&M/ the military for people who are too young to join Texas A&M and the military.

It is basically grooming girls to be entrepreneurs and CEOs.

Outside of selling cookies (cub and boy scouts sell popcorn and camp cards. that is the only similarity in scouting), girl scouts is nothing like cub/boy scouts.

And girl scouts is basically an excuse to sell a bunch of cookies.
So the leadership can keep their national headquarters in New York City.

lol if you think that selling cookies door to door grooms girls to be entrepreneurs and CEOs.

I mean, that’s probably how the Girl Scouts tries to sell parents on the idea of the Girl Scouts. But I really don’t think that selling cookies door to door teaches girls any life skills other than how to sell cookies door to door.

Because males aren't allowed to have their own spaces. Only females can have their own spaces.

Selling cookies isn't grooming the girls to be Entrepreneuers.

They complete "journeys" to earn patches.
"AGENT OF CHANGE" explores how individual girls and teams can use their personal power to make a difference.
"aMUSE" helps girls explore various roles, spot stereotypes, and build confidence.
"BALANCED LIVING" helps girls explore habits and tools so they can feel strong, capable, and ready for everything.

Imagine being a daughter who helps out at your brother's cub scout meeting where they are learning how to handle a pocket knife in third grade.

And your girl scout meeting is learning how you can feel strong, capable, and ready for anything. But don't touch the knives for another 7 years.

Is your daughter trash?

The girls are not the problem.
They can have their own girl troops.
How does that affect the boys?
It doesn't.

The girl scouting program is trash.
The girl scouting paid leadership is trash.
The opportunities provided to girls in girls scouts is trash (we literally have no girl scout campgrounds in the upper 2/3 of the state of Georgia).

This is like complaining about all girl colleges ruining the all boy colleges. Because boys can no longer have a safe space on their all boy college because of the all girl college down the road.

I am so disappointed in people.

I know I should look this up before chiming in, but do Girls Scouts allow boys in.

If so, why did Boy Scouts puss out. Maybe both organizations could merge into one single focus only on the advancement of Scout virtues minus any of the DEI or new age crap.

Worry more about knot tying, camping, survival skills, hunting, fishing, and other out adventures. Less about social justice, feminism, and selling over priced cookies that are manufactured in the same factory as other cookies.

I could understand if you were teaching about cooking and had the students bake cookies and popcorn to sell for profit.

This “federalism-style” organization is new to the Boy Scouts and only emerged recently as a response to the chaos of haphazard rule changes at the top.

But under this system, a boy who lives in the area of co-ed troop is still restricted to that style of troop.

There are other factors you aren’t considering. First of all is the assumption that the development of teenage boys and teenage girls is basically the same.

Are they following the same guidelines and expectations for the same badges, honors, and achievements?

What about the Boy Scout Camps? Are boys and girls attending the same regional and national summer camps? At the same time?

Do they still have troop competitions at these summer camps?

The sense of male achievement and rights-of-passage are no longer the same experience for boys if you include girls. And vice-versa!
