Chapo’s unit?

Daily mail

quote:

A lucky bargain hunter who bought a storage unit for $500 opened it up to find a safe containing $7.5million inside.

'They called a second person and when that person opened it up ... inside the safe they're normally empty, but this time it wasn't empty. It had $7.5million (£5.8million) cash inside.'

The government will find a way to confiscate it from him.

He found 10 mil and then reported 7.5, at least that's what I would do. Easier and cheaper than trying to launder $10m.

See... he holds back 2.5, pays half of the 7.5 to tax, now has 6.25 free and clear and clean which is more than if he laundered it or reported it all. It is like slipping provisional ballots into boxes of legit ballots.

Would be hard to spend without drawing suspicion from the IRS. I'd try though. Might buy a Benny's car wash and see what I could launder

The government isnt who he should be worried about. The person who the $7.5 million belongs too is who he needs to be worried about

Unfortunately no way he’s keeping that cash.

FBI will claim foul and take the money or the mafia breaking knees. Hopefully there was originally $10mm there.

having $2.5M in cash means you have like $5k in cash

there is nothing you can do short of trying to fly to the Caymans and praying they don't pick up the money on an x-ray

they've made using large amounts of cash insufferable and you basically need a criminal who can launder it for you to do anything short of declaring it

How do you have $7.5 million in a storage unit and forget to pay the $40 a month and cause it to go to auction?

This is actually the only use for crypto currency.

Laundering money is easier than ever right now.

No, you can make incremental deposits in a variety of accounts through different banks and get it all in there over time, as well as using it to make cash purchases.
