yeah. I think two people would know if I found that much money. God when I thank him for answering my selfish prayer and my wife when we all the sudden have a Suite in the Dome.

I would never go to the ATM for the rest of my life.

It would just be one big bag of petty cash.

I hear ya, but this whole situation is a loser even if he never disclosed the money.

Word will eventually get out over time thru no fault of your own to the wrong people that you have all this "walking around money" and you'll eventually be stabbed, robbed, mugged, shot, and eventually killed over it. I would never have peace of mind and constantly sleep with one eye open.

There are tons of people that have businesses that deal almost entirely in cash, and carry large amounts of cash, they don't get robbed or killed with greater frequency that the average person.

I don't know I'd hide it from the IRS--or at least all of it. Maybe keep a mill off the books and the rest claim it as a profit from my storage buying business. I don't know the legalities of him keeping it though.

If its drug money then I bet the feds will want it. So in that case, yeah, I'd hide all of it from the gov. I'd be really generous with some close family members and just live comfortably--not lavishly.

It would be concerning knowing that SOMEONE (probably currently in prison) could find out who bought the storage unit and then find out if that person ever claimed a bunch of cash. Since buyer of the unit has now gone public there isn't much use in finding him and cutting off his fingers one by one until he sqwaks about where the money is.

What an IDIOT. He will now have to pay tax on that $7.5 million. Had he kept his mouth shut and not gone on any wild spending sprees he could have saved millions in taxes.

If you read the story you find out the original owners offered 1.2 million for the rest of the money.

You keep it at home in a safe and use cash for everything. It will take a while but everything would feel free and you’d be able to pay off debt very fast with the salary from your actual job.

You don't go through TSA with $7mil lol, you charter a private jet. I have no idea about doing it internationally, but you can charter 2-3 times first for test runs and then once you know the protocol bring the cash.

Given that, I'd figure out who owned that storage unit first before I did anything. If its someone like a mexican Cartel I'm probably turning that money in.

Laundering it would be pretty easy. Take out a loan on 2-3 of those Ice dispensing machines. You could launder $10k a month or more on each without anyone thinking anything of it. That's enough for a $200k income. With your "real income" you can then start investing in bigger things assisted with your cash so as not to draw attention.

You could have it all laundered in 5-10 years pretty dang easily.

I doubt seriously if a person has that much money stored in a unit they would let payments on it lapse and it be sold at auction.

He/she is either dead or spending time in a federal pen somewhere. Even if in a pen, they could always get someone to pony up rent money to keep it from being sold.

Why would the new owner of the safe make a deal with old owners? Its legally their money right? This is given the money was made legally which I'm doubting.

You're quoting my post and I didn't say that.

As for legally being their money, I would think so since I've seen these shows where jewelry, fine paintings, expensive antiques etc. are all the property of the person who bought the unit. The only caveat I have seen is if the unit contains firearms. I think they have to turn them in unless they are things like flare guns or firearms that shoot lifelines and such.

And yes, that money is likely from illegal activity or else it wouldn't be hidden in a storage unit.

The attorney scared normal people by informing them of who he represents.

Pretty simple.
