I know a lot of people don't want to get out in shitty weather, but the fee's these food delivery people charge, and the constant frick ups isn't worth using them.
Uber Eats feeds us 40% off coupons every week
Our rate of having issues is probably 5%. Major issues less.
I'm not singing the praises of these services, but I'll own up to my family using them all the time. It's pretty convenient to do bath time and have food ready when we're done putting little kids to bed.

Am I the only person who doesn’t use these food delivery companies?
I’m either going to cook or go sit in the building and enjoy my fresh sub sandwich or tacos.
Who the hell enjoys either cold, soggy food that ends up being $15 extra dollars after fees and a tip?

Where I am? Only 1 pizza place and company car. As a kid had to order under different name because dad was law enforcement
Its not an available service and I’ve never used them or Uber. It’s easier and quicker for me to get it.
We also drive on vacations because it’s easier and more convenient so we order and pickup ourselves. Sorry I’m not a hipster who orders a drink for someone to bring to me.

Maybe he was just as lazy as you and figured he brought it to one house, he wasn't going to go out in the rain all over town.. Pick it up from the wrong house, then drop it off at the right house, etc. Instead, he got your money and someone else got your food.

Would be awesome if someone accidentally delivers food to my house. Would I eat it? Depends on how many beers I've had.

This situation really underscores the differences between generations. I cannot fathom ever wanting to use these services (absent some really unusual/unlikely scenario). Likewise, I understand that a lot of young people can't fathom NOT using them.
It really makes me think back to all of the things that I thought were normal for my generation (music, drugs, clothes) ... and how shocking all of that was to my parents WWII generation.

i've ordered from delivery apps probably 50 times in my life and never had a problem. not sure how it's such an issue for people here.

Honestly this exists even among generations who do the same stuff
We order delivery a couple times a week. Our 22 yo nanny does it almost every day, and for like a 7 dollar smoothie which I assume becomes 12 bucks, which seems crazy to me.

That driver sounds like they stole basically your entire order.

I had nothing but problems with Waitr.
Switched to ubereats and zero problems and its cheaper.

Yup, but I got refunded and reported the driver. That's about as good of a resolution as possible... Other than my food being delivered of course.

Go pick up your own food when it's raining too

The thought of using one of these services has never crossed my mind. I am in my 30's so before any of you shout boomer. I would just rather go get my own food instead of paying delivery fees on already overpriced items.

Never had cold or soggy food, no delivery fees via doordash, and a tip is 3-4 bucks. I don’t exactly live in a bustling metropolis. I can understand not using the app, what I will never understand are douches on the OT judging people based on how they choose to spend their money.

All depends on how they package it. Both the Indian place and Chinese place we order from package that shite in quality containers that keeps that shite pipping hot.
And if you tip decent, you can typically get a decent driver that won't frick your shite up. I'm alright with that.

on the rare occasion i get delivery, it's usually something like a chicken parm or orange chicken and i live in the city and tip well so i get it right away.

What type of food do you typically order?

Nope.
Only food I've ever had delivered is pizza. By the pizza place.
