Yea I'm sure tons of people here have a similar experience. A tale as old as time this one.

I guess the first thing he should do is talk to mom. (Is she still living?) See what she wants to do, because whatever he does will involve her and potentially put her in the middle.

I wish OweO weren’t banned. He’d know what to do.

He should track down the dad and follow him to his local bar.

Introduce himself as someone else, buy him a couple rounds, slip him a micky, then while he’s passed out force him to do a bunch of father-son things with him like fishing, going to a game, throwing the baseball, etc...

That’ll show him.

This is me. I have never met my biological father and I was born of rape so they say.

Let that shite die man. I have no reason to ever see that piece of shite. He ran out on me and my biological mother when I was 1.

It’s a consideration, though the dynamic may not effect her super directly if they aren’t terribly close in social circles and he keeps mom a bit abstract and focuses on his own relationship

Find the guy’s wife and tell her. He’s asking for it. DNA don’t lie.

I'd honestly probably just drop it unless the mom wants to do something about it. Some things are better left unknown.

talking about the rape part. We aren't given much detail. Could they have both been blitzed and she went with it but can't recall?

I told him to save the messages so his farther's denial can be used against him. How does he have his DNA if you didn't sleep with his mom?

Most of us have had a drunk one night stand, so I thought it was possible it could have been just subjective on how someone sees the the night's entanglement. But the way you said his dad reacted kind of lends credence to more of the knowingly taking advantage of an unconscious girl.

3. File charges with the police and force the guy to address his past?

Well that’s not an option given the statutes of limitations, but I know what he should propose to his father.

The OP's buddy needs to consider this.

Maybe it would be a good thing for piece of shite understanding that he's a rapist and sweating out the possibility he will be fighting for his freedom in court.

Especially if he wants to be flippant to his long lost son who is clear as day evidence that his genitals mashed with said woman's genitals, consensual or not.

Tell ur buddy it’s not his fault

When he tries to laugh it off, tell him it’s not his fault again

Keep saying it until he shoves you, then say it again

He will hug you tight and cry on ur shoulder

You really are a good friend, Sean

I think Only 1 is a real option...

I dont Think the police are gonna take a decades old sexual assault case.

Ackshually.....

My "dad" left my mom after he found out she was pregnant but before she got popped for embezzlement. That's why she left me in the lurch after I was born. Had to run from the law.

Best part? She's still on the lam and ol boy is a sleeze bag lawyer of the "give em the womack" variety.

I've tried reaching out to both of them and let me tell you.... Some stones really are better left unturned.

He has a great life without the deadbeat dad.

Why try?

At no point did I say the guy didn't have sex with your friend's mother.

That was all I was wondering about. The guys reaction does not lend credence to the accusation he took advantage of the situation. Ot doesn't paint him as a great guy, but I suspect many men would throw up a wall of they were told by some adult that they were his son.

Jesus man. This could be a 40 year old case of two drunk people making a bad decision.

Is the mom wanting to press charges?

He can't press charges.
