This was the most recent post on FB from one of the owners of Scout...
First of all, I want to say- I am blown away with what social media is capable of!! I initially made a post hoping to locate our dog, and never dreamed the circumstances would have twisted and turned and found us in the place we are in! This has been the most absurd and unpredictable thing.
I am amazed at the amount of people that have reached out to our family, offering encouragement and support amongst many other things. Wow! There really are no words.
As of now, law enforcement is no longer involved and We feel it is best to let things rest. Our hope was to locate our dog, Scout, and thanks to social media, we were able to do that! Right now we don't know exactly where he is, but I believe wherever he is, he is healthy and he is being well cared for. While it saddens our family to know he won't be back home with us, I can rest knowing he is alive and hopefully will be happy. After all, he is the one of the most friendly dogs you'll ever meet! I am sad for my children, but one day they will understand the situation at hand. We feel this is the best and safest decision for our family. Thank you for all the hard work and kind words! I never dreamed looking for our dog would turn into such a big mess!
Now, Please join us in prayer for the rescuer who now has Scout!

I would not have to steal him. There is a reason they call him "MY" dog.
I don't have a dog in this fight and I already know where this ditchpig lives.

Sounds bad, but if they weren't willing to do what it takes to get their dog back, maybe they didn't really want him. If somebody picked up my dog, and I knew who it was, that mf'er would be back at my house immediately

So they found the dog, but it's too much work to get him back, so they're just saying screw it?

They went from a full on social media assault, trying to hunt this woman down in whatever state she was in, with law enforcement involvement, to giving up quickly.
Something happened. An attorney or LE told them to stop and give up or something. It is odd that after all the help they received that they gave up with no explanation.

I'm not a dog person at all. But as a person I think you're a piece of shite for giving up and not getting your dog back. If you found your dog and knew where it was, nothing short of murder should keep you from getting YOUR OWN frickING DOG BACK.
