know he pushed the Mormon angle hard in ep 2, but I was thinking there had to be more to it than that. You’re probably right though. The weird arse cult of Mormonism is to blame. I wonder what other nefarious acts Mormons have covered up over the years
This whole thing makes Bricks and Minfigs look like a horrible company, the Cult of Mormon as an incestuous nightmare, and the admission of Utah to the union as a mistake.
I hope a good attorney absolutely bankrupts that town.

I just spent too long watching this. Why didn’t Ben just report stolen goods and go from there? Make it criminal at the start.

When this shite is all said and done; this will be the most watched Netflix documentary of all time. The federal lawsuit fallout of this might even change how a summons is served, especially in the digital age. The people of Utah should be pissed. Their tax money is funding a personal security team via police department for a criminal owner.

How did Bricks and Minifags take possession of the legos.

The OG seller gave them to the original franchise owners to sell via contract

Another I question I have is why haven’t any lawyers taken up his case against the police in Utah? He has a pretty good case against those scumbags.
The entire police dept looks corrupt as shite. He should be suing the shite out of them for violation of civil rights. He should have threatened that in the videos to at least make them scared. A judge should unredact the videos for that court case. I wouldn’t stop until the heads of that police dept are fired.

In the YouTube comments, there is thousands of people saying that they have contacted the DOJ and FBI about this police department.

I was wondering if this was gonna make its way here, I’ve been enamored with the entire thing. At this point I can’t wait to see how it plays out legally. Ben is saying that he’s been receiving contact from top law firms, which is good for him cuz he’s most likely going to have a hell of a personal legal battle to deal with.

I would imagine this whole affair has absorbed all of Ben's time and resources. The videos give an idea how easy it easy for an average joe to get hopelessly railroaded by the judicial system and makes one empathetic toward some of the "criminals" of the world.

I take it you aren't familiar with Warren Jeffs?
Warren Jeffs was not LDS, he was some fundamentalist offshoot that seperated in the 1800's and continued with polygamy when the LDS church stopped it.

Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints aka FLDS

In his rebuttal to the clown of a chief of police, Ben said that those videos are 100% going to get redacted once lawyers take up his case. They could redact it now and try to save face, but you and I both know they won’t. So the police department will be a joke when it’s all said and done.

There you go. Not affiliated with the actual LDS church.

The one cop even said on dash cam that he knew they didn't have drugs during that one stop but wanted to scare them a little bit.
So many cops are scum and then the "good ones" cover for them.

I heard about this story, but haven't really followed it. I just went to their website, and they have this press release LINK
Corporations need to realize that we live in different times, and that once the outrage machine takes hold, no amount of explaining your stance is going to calm the mob down.
Once this story took off, they should have immediately said something like "We've looked into this issue, and this is not how we want to do business. We have returned/refunded the owner everything owed to him. We have cancelled our franchise agreement with the store owner in question."
But instead they are doubling down on being absolutely correct. They may in fact be in the right here. I don't know. But that's besides the point.
I just feel bad for the franchise owners who have nothing to do with this who are probably going to take a hit from all this bad publicity.

I don't have any interest in watching youtube videos to follow this whole saga, but how exactly did this happen?
We have a BAM near us that my 5 year old likes to visit so I've been a few times. You buy and sell legos. I'm at a loss for how the company could steal Legos from someone.
