Not surprising to hear this nowadays. There used to be some pride in doing your job to the best of your ability and working hard. Seems lost to most ppl now. Guess it is cool to be lazy and get by the easy way.

6 years since my last kid and about to welcome another. Doona is a brand that is all my wife talks about now that wasn't even mentioned by her 6 years ago.

Amazon has certainly done fantastic, but they certainly haven’t eaten wmts lunch.

So why did they (Walmart) launch their own home delivery service Walmart+?

Drake seems to be the new big player in the fishing and sportsman apparel market. Hadn’t heard of them a year ago. Wife bought me two of their LSU shirts and they are well made.

Under Armour blew up when I was in Jr high. Suddenly everyone wore something of theirs. I still have my long sleeve UA from almost 20 years ago

the wildly overpriced Yeti fad,

Did Yeti turn into a high end designer company sure. But I don't let that discount how their price and reputation was built. In the mid/late 2000's when the OG bear proof indestructible Yeti cooler came out there was nothing like it on the market. They identified a need in the outdoor enthusiast market and designed and built a highly specialized boutique niche product that served the needs of their target audience and took a risk introducing the product to market. It was a $200-$300 cooler when all the other mass market coolers on the market were $30. When you are in the back country away from civilization in bear country for 4-5 days they are worth their weight in gold and money becomes no object. Did it eventually turn into "My rich uncle has a $300 he uses for hunting and it's badass, I want to get one for the back of my truck to hold beer and cokes!" Sure. But I don't let that discount how Yeti innovated in that space. Not even a fanboy, but I was first amazed at their coolers in 2010 when we first went rock crawling on the Rubicon Trail and one of the guys had a Yeti and had cold food for all 4 days while our stuff was water logged from melted ice after 2 days.

Rhoback. Love their strategy of offering themed shirts. I have the Tiger stadium one and a pickleball one.

Friends have Mardi Gras, other colleges, cocktail, etc.

Stanley. Brand has been around forever but now every white girl has one.

I have yet to figure this out, makes zero sense.

They brought in the guy from Crocs.

They went to the female influencers, got them on board and asked what women wanted. Then they went all in in caterimg to it.

It's brilliant.

Because they are competing with Amazon? If they failed to do that, they would be getting "taken over"--like Sears, who had the OG home delivery service (the catalog) but never succesfully built an internet delivery service.

SaltLife, Vineyard Vines, Crocs, and Yeti fads were all a bit lost on me.
