That happened to me about that age but it was piña colada. I just keep my mouth shut.

Agree. Better to have their first alcohol experience when not surrounded by family. Was she hoping that he fricked a fat broad the first time?

Thats people looking for money. Its actually sad how that comes to people's mind so quick. If I were in that situation as a parent the idea of suing over that wouldn't even come to mind. Bartender made a mistake, it was corrected.. Move on..

Agreed

I had definitely had a little Jack Daniels and a beer by 12.
I was a full blown alcoholic by the time I was 14. Had my first DUI...er arrest for OWI before I got a drivers license. Therefore, technically the offense was driving without a license.

What are the chances that the drink was made correctly and grandma spiked it looking for a payout?

So he admits that it tasted weird and kept drinking anyway? Then goes to the hospital where he undoubtedly spit out one corny joke after another to the nurses even though the drink probably wasn’t even affecting him anymore.

The boy was eventually taken to the hospital as his body began to react to the alcohol.

Why is a 12 year old ordering a virgin anything? Just get your Coke or water.

You sound like a man that has taken his kids to the beach and bought a $10 virgin daquiri for a seven year old. I feel the pain.

But the entire story gets called into question (as others have pointed out) using Tylenol when there is alcohol in the system of almost anyone. There's a decent probability the reporter didn't realize that almost no health care provider would do this, and didn't double check to make sure it wasn't actually ibuprofen that the kid was given.

But newsflash, if you get discharged getting acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and maybe IV fluids, you don't get to sue. That's happened tailgating in Baton Rouge.

Jesus christ, an12 year old coukd ingest a few ounces of alcohol with no ill effects.

As a 4th grader I accidentally grabbed the grapefruit juice and vodka mix at a high school graduation.

I probably had three of them before I realized it tasted worse than regular grapefruit juice.

I was sweating like crazy, but no ill effects.

As it is presented it is as real as Martians landing in Los Angeles.

There is more to this story that isn’t being told.
