Bogalusa's new mayor has tossed Lady Liberty out of city hall

Due to the mayors ongoing pissing contest with a local businessman, the mayor has removed a Statue of Liberty replica from the court room inside city hall. The statue was donated by the businessman's brother, and so it must go. She was tossed out back and the family was given 48 hours to come pick her up.

This is more of what I was driving at yesterday when I asked what you thought of the current climate here. This is disgraceful. The family that donated this statue also helped this mayor get elected. Apparently he has turned on many who helped him get elected.

With all due respect to the real Lady Liberty, this is just one of tens of thousands of hideous, tasteless pieces of "tourist art" to be purchased on roadsides throughout the south.
There are good reasons to doubt the judgment of this new, young mayor, but removing this gaudy thing from the public building does a favor to the community.
The premeditated indignation of "patriots" is predictable and right on time.

I’m sure he will say it’s racist somehow and he was offended by it. Here’s an idea. See how fast that shite hole of a town dies when the big bad white businessmen quit supporting it. Something tells me the other side that elected that kid won’t pick up the slack……. Call me racist or whatever you want to call me but you can’t convince me that a 23 year old kid that got elected mayor was due to anything but him being black. I wouldn’t believe a 23 year old white, green, yellow, purple or hot fricking pink colored person was qualified to run a town at that age.
