That's not the point. The Judge ruled that the City had the right to remove the Statue. He gave the family 48 hrs. to remove it. Supposedly the statue was set outside like discarded trash in less than 2 hrs. and photos of it were instantly circulating on social media. If 48 hrs. and 1 minute had transpired and it had not been removed by the family that would be one thing but the way that this was handled shows a measure of immaturity and not what you want to see out of your local leadership. If a framed photo of Barack Obama or Dr. Martin Luther King were deemed not fitting for the decor of City Hall and handled in the same manor I would fully expect an uproar from the community particularly the black community.

I still don’t get your point as to why it would not.

Who gives a shite? It’s become a sign of America. Proudly displaying it in a government building is negative, how exactly?

And it’s a symbol of opportunity and freedom. It’s the first thing my grandparents saw when they immigrated here. Wtf are you babbling about? You’re not as intelligent as you pretend to be

First thing I thought. Its small town politics. But people on this board will probably boycott even passing through Bogalusa.

That kid is going to insight a race war if he’s not careful. I feel for the town residents having to deal with all that bullshite from a little kid mayor who clearly hates white people.

Bomb threat was some kid who didn’t complete everything to graduate so they called in a bomb threat. I’ll take that over shooting up the place.

Slidell Cajun has been carrying water for this guy since he was elected. I guess he’s just being consistent and doubling down.

I don’t pretend to be intelligent.

The Statue of Liberty is not an American creation. It was a gift from France and then someone thought it’d be a nice idea to put a poem about needy immigrants at the pedestal. That poem is used by liberals today to defend what is going on at the border and anyone that objects is called racist, and xenophobic.

Liberals hold it up as gospel for what we, the United states of america is all about- like it’s our constitution. it’s merely a gift- from France- with a poem about taking in the poor, needy immigrants.

Sorry dude but that’s not what america is all about

A fake bomb threat is definitely better than thugs shooting it out in broad daylight in front of Food Depot, which happened several months back, I’m surprised that video never made its way here. Growing up in Franklinton in the 80’s, going to Bogalusa to the movie theater or to a fast food place was a treat to a kid that didn’t have either in our town. Now, I only go there when it’s absolutely necessary.
