Yes, they should have to call back to command post to review ROE with commander before taking a shot. I trained with BRPD while in military. You’re going to want to go with the police officer over the infantry.

have a hard time believing a vehicle designed to shield soldiers from IED's is somehow a necessity to patrol the streets of any American city.

I literally gave examples of what they’re used for in a police setting.

The federal govt was nearly or actually giving them away to police so if your agency either didn’t have one or maybe had an older bearcat, why not take the new upgrade?

Understand that having that vehicle is more of a have and hopefully not need rather than a need and don’t have, because It’s all “I don’t see the necessity” until there’s an active shooter and no way to get close to you to get you or other people out.

Liberals hate fascism. And fascist radicals have taken over one of America’s major parties.

It’s hard to be a liberal and watch your party attack freedom of expression, attempt to shut down freedom of speech, undermine right to bear arms, sneer at the right to worship, misuse the FISA courts against political enemies.

Not that republicans have all the answers.....but at least they seem to be controlled by people that haven’t gone completely off the deep end. Democrats need to push the radical totalitarian progressives in their party aside permanently.

They’re far right extremists. Renaming colleges, tearing down things, and burning down buildings is far right.

you gave rare once in a blue moon examples, or examples where cajuns with fishing boats have been superior.

then you honed in on a pistol sidearm was a major talking point for police funding, when cops provide their own sidearm. completely ignoring the fact they get sports cars to patrol and speed trap. if they spent 15% of their sports car budget on de-escalation or physical combat everyone would be much better off. they could much more effectively detain/avoid firearm conflict instead of resorting to lethal force. police excessive force use happens way more than mass shooting events

The bearcats/MRAPs are an unfortunate necessity in today’s age. They are a purely defensive piece of equipment

Since they are free and I am strictly defense, can you link me to where I can get mine? Preferably with a lift kit, a granny gear, and a set of truck nuts a little larger than appropriate?

TIA

you seem misinformed if you think you need a $170k+ wheeled vehicle to rescue people from a flood. a few local cajuns with fishing boats proved to be far more effective in this scenario.

Nobody said they needed a $170k vehicle for rescues. I said they double as both am armored vehicle for active shooter situations and rescue vehicles.

So just using simple economics, if I manage a fleet and can get one or two vehicles free or nearly free from the fed and can then get rid of an old bearcat and possible some old deuce and a halves which were used for rescue missions, then why not? I’ve not condensed my fleet and modernized it which lowers maintenance costs.

I know not many people will change their opinions but just look at it more than what it appears on the surface and sometimes it will make sense. Other times it’ll still be ducked up and then you can call it out.

I’m regards to the charger, blame the Obama administration which essentially killed the crown Victoria. Police basically have two choices, a charger or an SUV and according to the 2021 police tahoe thread nobody wants cops to have those either so
