Understand that having that vehicle is more of a have and hopefully not need rather than a need and don’t have, because It’s all “I don’t see the necessity” until there’s an active shooter and no way to get close to you to get you or other people out.
I get all of that.
My point is that the police will never be the military and vice versa (God willing), no matter how much tacticool stuff every backwood podunk police department wants to have for their elite SWAT team.
It just lends credence to the idea that the police are there to occupy, and then come in handy once every couple years when someone goes postal or there's a flood.
People wonder how and what lead to the rise of no knock warrants, then they look at the increasing prevalence of SWAT teams and gear, and then legal justifications for the escalation of tactics.

Liberals hate fascism. And fascist radicals have taken over one of America’s major parties.
It’s hard to be a liberal and watch your party attack freedom of expression, attempt to shut down freedom of speech, undermine right to bare arms, sneer at the right to worship, and misuse the FISA courts against political enemies
I was borderline called a white supremacist by a guy I would have considered one of my best friends in the past, because I believe most conservative views.
We have prayed together, done ministry on the wrong side of the tracks together, our kids have been friends for years and he dropped the WS on me today.
I think WS is absolutely evil and want racial reconciliation. He knows that about me. And he insinuated that I was a WS today. I was flabbergasted.
It’s absolutely about shutting down the other side right now and it breaks my heart.

Is the OP correct, or Is it fake news? It would be a lot cooler if it’s true.

About as effective as an Abrams or a Bradley, or even a Stryker.

It's pretty crazy how even the Baptist church has been taken over by this ideology

I agree, but you always have “that” guy in every walk of life. Truthfully a lot of those small depts uses that as a recruiting technique for new officers. Don’t know if I agree or disagree with it, but I’m the last 10years cops haven’t been view all that great so I don’t know if I can blame a dept for trying different approaches for recruitment.

The Federal govt helped this along. Smaller departments can get grants for SWAT teams if they can justify the use. Serving “high risk” warrants is one of those justifications.

but a swat team would be better trained and suited for such occurrences than BRPD.
I'm fairly certain that BRPD has a swat team.

We’re in a reformed bible church and the pastor I’m closest with and his wife are leading the SJW charge. I genuinely love him and his efforts in local ministries.
My wife is in a text group (that this pastor’s wife) that started out of a black Christian conference they went to a few years back and there are things in that thread that would ruin his and the rest of their husband’s careers if they got out in public. Just complete vitriol and threats against Trump supporters and people that don’t agree with them. My wife wants to leave it but she feels like leaving it will solidify our stance as white supremacists with them.

I’m regards to the charger, blame the Obama administration which essentially killed the crown Victoria. Police basically have two choices, a charger or an SUV and according to the 2021 police tahoe thread nobody wants cops to have those either so
I dont care what admin did it, its gross. cops dont need sports cars or brand new tahoes to speed trap or do checkpoints. this is a more important point than the bearcat/mrap. although I still hold their necessity is overplayed. my point was gross overspending on gadgets instead of training. its like 500 hours training to be a cop and 30k+ for a charger.
its about 10 months salary to afford a charger but about half a month salary to train a cop.

If they are threatening violence, what are you waiting for?
They already hate you secretly. Would it really matter at that point?

Today I learned cops work 1000 hours a month.

Which is exactly what lead us here.
The problem is that the folks writing and signing these "high risk" warrants usually have little to no actual oversight until something goes very wrong and you end up killing an EMT at home who absolutely didn't have to die after you break down the door to the wrong house or your SWAT team flashbangs a baby in the crib, or shoots the homeowner after he wonders why there's people in his backyard.
Then these same folks point to the MRAP in the street and say "See, we are fighting a war out here and fear for our lives every day. We wouldn't have this if we didn't need it". IMHO it just raises the temperature artificially and tries to blur the lines between soldier and LEO unnecessarily.
To your point about the federal government yes absolutely on multiple levels, e.g. civil asset forfeiture.

When are we gonna discuss how to better train the segment of society that commits a disproportionately large percentage of the crime in this country while barely making up a double digit percentage of the population? Why is this problem solely the responsibility of the police?

I’ve told he she needs to screenshot the dozens of comments and send them to the thread and say “I love each of y’all and abhor racism, but is this the picture of Christ that y’all want to give to the world? Matching hate for hate? Threatening to blow up a stand selling Trump gear? Beating up teenagers that disagree with your kids’ posts? Calling people you disagree with on the internet ‘idiots?’ None of this is Christlike“

They've already made their minds up and won't be convinced.
As shitty as it sounds you need to say you'd like to respectfully depart on good terms and chalk it up to a simple disagreement of doctrine. If they pursue the ruination route as a result, you need to remind them that you have texts that won't be so kind to them. If they persist in going after you, you need to release them.
Once that mindset has taken hold, the only thing they will respond to is an equal show of force. It really is a mind virus. I wish there was another way, but their doctrine doesn't allow middle ground any longer.

As long as they disproportionately vote for one political party, it will NEVER change.
The democrats have had to do nothing to actually earn their vote for the last 50 years. If just 15-20% of blacks voted republican in an election cycle, it would be monumental. However, we've never seen it over 10%, and we probably won't in our lifetimes.
