There's a large geopolitical strategic advantage to becoming energy independent
I agree. Which is why Biden's policies are absolutely fricking stupid.

But they're not. They're actively blocking the development of next generation nuclear energy production.

Do you think China is investing billions in a greener infrastructure because they're environmentalist hippies?
Most of their green energy is hydro. Go do some research on the long term environmental impacts of relying on that. Then maybe you'll understand why we're tearing down old hydro dams and not replacing them.
And of course they're investing in 'green' energy. They don't have anywhere near the oil, gas, and coal reserves we do.

No shite, man. That's my point. They're investing in these green renewables because they want energy independence. They're, as usual, looking for strategic advantages. Not having to rely on foreign sources of ONG and instead producing their own energy will save them hundreds of billions of dollars while also protecting themselves from embargos, foreign attacks, price manipulation, etc.

For once, I absolutely agree with you here. Nuclear is a very solid choice, imo (not that I'm an expert). And it's not just Biden, there's hesitance from both parties due to the political fallout of embracing nuclear....it's very much a NIMBY issue. Even if you can build the plants, then you have to deal with the waste. Nevada is throwing a shite fit about nuclear waste being disposed of in their desertlands.

Yea that is hilarious. They all point at China as being some great ambassador to being environmentally conscious. Anyone that believes China is a retard

while we agree neither side is exactly pushing for nuclear energy as the long term alternative. Which side is also pushing for ridiculous “green energy” mandates and restrictions that will cripple the economy and the domestic energy companies?

How will this dumbass adapt to not being able to fly like he does now?

Exactly, LSU and Entergy are destroying 1000s of acres in WBR and Washington parish to make enough power to sustain 800 house 55% of the time. No plan in place to recycle these things and the eco system that once stood there is gone. Oil and Natural gas or Nuclear would have requires 1% of their foot print to sustain both parishes 100% of the time.

Follow the money. I trust no politicians and their policies usually benefit their investments or other agendas. This will ultimately increase the tax base and the goal isn’t cheaper energy.

Shhhh! Who cares about destroying habitat. It's green energy damnit!!!! GREEN I TELL YOU!
It's the ultimate virtue signal for greenies. Inflict massive destruction on the environment in the name of green energy that is supposed to...save the environment.

A site called Oil price couldn't possibly be biased towards the oil industry.

90% of drilling companies filed bankruptcy under the trump administration. some of which were in business over 75 years.

Wind turbine fields, hydro electric, and solar farms will slowly replace oil fields both on and offshore.
And that is absolutely retarded for how piss poor all of those things are in terms of reliability and power density. Anyone who believes we can meet even current electrical demands on wind, solar, etc. are the same that failed basic physical science.

Got 5 calls in the last 2 weeks to go back to field. It's tempting. Would instantly be back at what I was making before I got laid off last year. But I have started a new career and not sure I want to deal with that again.
I recommend that you stay in your current career track. Btw what company is hiring? Asking for a friend
