The new presidential administration has hit the ground running on climate change, with a demonstrative focus on bringing the United States up to speed with the rest of the developed world in terms of leaning into the global green energy transition.
quote:

“I’m not going to sugarcoat how hard transitions are,” new United States Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm stated
Can we just shut off the gas to these people for next winter and let the states that are voting these zealots into office experience the "carbon-free" environment they desire so badly? They are more than happy to tell workers in the oil industry to "learn to code" or "learn to build solar panels".

Maybe the gas and oil producing states should tell them, "learn to set your thermostats to 54°".

biden issued 31 drilling permits in the gulf of mexico since he took the oath of office. we are starting to see a slight increase in activity. not sure i'd believe everything the media says.

Except there are tons of products that require oil and don’t really have a substitute. And “green” energy isn’t very green itself. It also needs a lot of oil to work

Yes because all the conservatives in the north would greatly appreciate your sweeping generalization and shutting off of gas next winter.

May as well shut off ac to Georgia this summer too since they went blue. And Texas too since they’re next to go blue

And simultaneously revoked 70. Democrat math is hard.

he ordered a pause in the sale of new oil and gas leases on federal land.

Adapt to burdensome regulations and restrictions designed to kill your industry.

That's the thing. These people can spout off ridiculous platitudes with no fear of reprisal or accountability. If the major metropolitans that vote majority blue want to get away from oil-based energy quickly...then give them their wishes.

Same with the people that hate police officers. You don't want them in your neighborhood? That's fine. It's your choice. Give them the third-world warlord neighborhood they THINK they want.

90% of drilling companies filed bankruptcy under the trump administration. some of which were in business over 75 years. we know that this administration will be difficult to deal with but, i'm quite certain that we will coexist like we did with obama. in fact, when obama was in office, he was in the process of opening up florida and the carolina's for the first time in history. we were fixing to BOOM. but, then we the macondo accident took place and we lost 11 brothers. at that point, he put into place many restrictions that were hard to overcome. but, we did.

It really is funny, that you believe everything your fed in the media. News reports on Jan 27th state he "issued 31 drilling permits". 2 days later news reports stated he "revoked 70 drilling permits".

How embarrassing is it for you, that you voted for that clown?

Not sure why oil companies have so many defenders. Several are starting to adapt on their own. They have a 20 year plan that evolves. Others like the big one in BR is just arrogant and dumb apparently. Just because you work for one doesn’t mean you have to blindly defend them. Oil isn’t going anywhere obviously but the way it’s produced and the environmental impacts will change. You don’t have to be a tree hugger to see that.

You mean energy companies. Wind turbine fields, hydro electric, and solar farms will slowly replace oil fields both on and offshore. The same companies producing energy now will be the ones harnessing this energy. The titans of the O&G energy era haven't been sitting on their hands.

Why doesn't the administration adapt to new nuclear reactor designs that are safer and cheaper than the traditional designs?
