The response needs to be, “Nah, we’ll just ride it out until the voters kick you out.”

I'll have to see some facts for this. 90% of ALL drilling companies?

The oil industry has been adapting and has made significant improvements year after year. The US has outpaced m the Pairs climate agreement and is a world leader in carbon reduction. The oil industry is a big reason why.

None of those three will ever be anything but a small supplement to the actual grid. And unless dipshits stop making nuclear more of a hassle than it's worth, we will rely on fossil fuels for the overwhelming majority of our energy production in this country for the foreseeable future.

"That sounds made up."

Maybe oil companies have so many defenders because it is a primary reason why America is what it is, or the simple fact that nearly every product is petro based. America cutting down their carbon footprint will mean absolutely nothing when India and China are operating and polluting like it's the 1920s. Yet no-one in MSM/left will speak about that.

Saudi and Russian oil companies will happily sell to China, which will gobble it up, and continue selling cheap products to the rest of the world while we will be paying 3X the cost of energy that China pays, but we'll be reveling in our carbon freedom.

This will NEVER HAPPEN. Wind, water, and solar are nowhere near as efficient as fossil fuels, therefore, the sheer multitude of units needed to be produced (which, by the way, is produced via oil and gas powered machinery and processes) would turn every national park and open space into a mechanical wasteland. Maybe that's why Biden's admin is grabbing up more private land and claiming it federal?

Got 5 calls in the last 2 weeks to go back to field. It's tempting. Would instantly be back at what I was making before I got laid off last year. But I have started a new career and not sure I want to deal with that again.

This has been the case since the 90s. All the big boys are adapting. Oil and gas is going to be significantly diminished over the next century. This is not news.

You can’t understand why oil companies have so many defenders ? WTF.

How is your home powered, let alone heated and cooled?Do you drive a vehicle ? Regardless of how it’s powered (electric or combustion engine) the original fuel source is a hydrocarbon produced and refined by an oil company. Do you live in Louisiana? Every road you drive on, public building you enter or public school built is primarily financed by taxes paid by oil companies. Didn’t even hit the tens of thousands of high paying jobs they provide on a permanent basis and the intermittent jobs they provide to construction and maintenance contractors. You are an example of what’s wrong with this country. Let’s go green——ok , how do we sustain ourselves from an energy standpoint only using green energy ? It isn’t possible.

O&G companies are adapting. All of the bigs are heavily invested in clean energy.

All of the bigs also go above and beyond the environmental regulations. Or they skirt them because most regs are written to be interpreted multiple ways.

And the state does not care about the small producers.

You mean like how power was shut off to people in Texas just a few weeks ago where cole and natural gas is 67% of their energy makeup?

Like that?

Not unless nuclear fusion is perfected or they back off on doing everything possible to not allow nuclear fission.
