That run looks rough for Jamaica. Eyewall may pass over the entire island

This HWRF run is taking the cruise ship route. Jamaica to Grand Cayman to Cozumel.

Getting down to crunch time. 24 hours to Jamaica, 40 or so to GC and about 65 to Cozumel.

There is still time for small changes in track, but it is becoming obvious that regardless of exact track, the impacts for all three will be significant and possibly devastating.

If it continues the southerly/SE track of Jamaican landfall, they are probably at the safest spot on the island. There’s a lot of mountainous terrain, the Blue Mountains, between him and landfall. It’s tracking right towards Kingston and Spanish Town which would be an instantaneous humanitarian crises.

Yeah, he was probably in the best spot possible if he had to ride it out. Last night I was thinking I'd probably stay for the stories, but with the northern shifts since I'd now be considering getting out. That's a lot more onshore flow with the more Northern track that I wouldn't really want to deal with.

I assume the cruise industry will have extra days at sea if there’s complete devastation in those ports. I’ll be taking a cruise two months from now to Cozumel so hoping there’s something left.

I look for this thing to take more of a northern jog than they are currently predicting.
