“This morning, I made an unforgivable mistake slipping on air while reading a song lyric,” Mintz tweeted Monday morning after reading the slur aloud during his show “Wake Up Mintzy.”
“I meant no harm & have never felt worse about anything. I apologize for my actions. I am truly sorry & ashamed of myself.”

As much live, unscripted content as they product, it's amazing this doesn't happen more often.

You know, i was thinking about that word the other day. My kids (grade school) have no clue what that word is or means, and likely have never heard it. Which is great if the goal was to strike the word from existence. However, what keeps that word alive, is rappers and movies. THe entertainment industry, which is so quick to cancel someone for reading something they themselves wrote, are just about the only thing keeping that word alive.

Yep. The coolest thing about barstool was that anytime something like this happened they told the mob to get fricked. Lost a good leader of that mentality but I'd sell out for half a billion.

very good point, I never hear that word in day to day life, unless it's said by a black person

But that's not what happened though, right? He didn't "use" the word; he literally read if off of the paper (or his phone). He was reading rap lyrics, wasn't he?
He didn't "use" it at anybody or call someone the N word. He literally read it from a song lyric. And regardless of the dude himself or if you like him or not, that is absolutely a ludicrous reason for him to be fired IMO.
