Still doesn't answer the question.

You'll have to ask the insurance companies then and not the OT.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not relevant. Or shouldn't be.

Insurance companies, with health insurance being the absolute worst, need a major reckoning

No one can clearly state what the frick their coverage actually covers (including the insurance company's own employees when you ask for a detailed explanation).

While insurance companies suck, the entire insurance and legal industry surrounding it needs a major reckoning. In Louisiana, a doctor can tell you that a surgery has a 50% chance of causing permanent loss of function. When that happens, it's basically an insta win in court, and that's not right either.

Of course it's relevant. That will tell us how often the company will deny.

We already know that answer. As often as they think they can get away with it.

I see you're not serious about the topic. Just keep on reacting emotionally.

I’m ok being awake after I’m opened up. The cutting is done at that point.

Y'all realize that 90% of this is due to Obamacare, right?

Government underpaying doctors has led them to overcharging private insurance, private insurance has doubled or more, they can't go up anymore so now they have to start cutting services.

This is EXACTLY what people with intelligence were predicting when Obamacare was being discussed before it passed.

Managed care “insurers” are crooks. She’s brave to make that announcement at this time.

United Healthcare just posted a 90B profit, with better margins than last year.

Um actually bro the CEOs job is to maximize profits. It's just business, hope you understand.

In unrelated news, I hear Aetna's CEO is about to announce a policy where the most they'll cover is a swig of whiskey and "bite down on this leather strap"

It shouldn't matter. Allowing insurance companies to dictate that is arse backwards.

Is it? the medical field has been proven corrupt and downright evil. What the method to check them? Doctors get caught over and over again doing things that are unnecessary to make more money. They are pushing transgender surgeries because they are massive money makers. They needlessly push c-section births because they are the most profitable. They give lower priority to organ donors because they make more money doing organ transplants than saving the donor's life. the lists go on and on and on.

Since insurance is getting scammed as much as the average consumer, of course they are going to do things to try and push back. In reality, the only check is keeping doctors and insurance companies opposed to each other. If they collude the customer can be completely screwed.

It's so funny how TD in general will say that maximizing profit/shareholder value at any cost is always moral, right and just and then immediately turn around and post paragraph after paragraph how college football has been completely ruined and we need about 1000 new restrictions in place to reign in the money these kids/coaches/schools/networks are making.

ETA: and don't forget these same people will wax poetically about the days when companies were run by engineers instead of bean counters.

Yeah, that's pretty much my favorite bit of cognitive dissonance here.

So if a surgeon gets in there and the procedure is more complicated than anticipated then you’re just screwed? Some bean counter made this proposal for sure.

I thought Obamacare was supposed to solve all of these problems?
