I seriously think you have to have lost all your screws to compete in the Isle of Man TT, but I must admit that even with the skill set I don’t think I’d do it.

They are nuts, and the poster child of nuts was this guy

The course is crazy enough without all the full-sun to deep shadow transitions at insane speeds.

I would rather try qualifying on the motorcycle than attempt this. My sphincter slams shut just watching this

I got target fixation a few times watching that. Between the road undulations, debris/dirt cornering, potential fallen branch or who knows what it could be nap time at any minute. Many people don’t realize that these are roads, not a track. That’s what makes it so insane.

Google Isle of Mann. They race there annually.

Yep, and people die there pretty much annually.

No.

People die almost every single year from wrecks

Don’t want to race that badly

Been watching IOM for years. Quite possibly the most insane and exhilarating event I’ve ever witnessed. Numerous MotoGP racers have been there and almost all have said it is the hardest race ever. The same guys that push bikes to over 200 mph.

I wonder what the insurance on one of those little shops or houses is like knowing there will be a couple hundred Superbikes screaming by every year. There has to be stories of shopowners being ruined because some adrenaline junky put his bike through the storefront before.

It's not America, they don't sue for every little thing. They welcome the event because the tourism keeps the island alive.

Came to post the exact same thing. And add to that the fact it is on regular roads traveled by the local residents and not some TT track with banked turns to make them a bit safer.

Oh, and those hay bales set up on the side of the road in many spots that are deemed dangerous are not really going to save a rider's arse. It may lessen the injuries a bit, but not completely.
