When you need a tree of that size taken down, the only thing the average person needs to cut is a check.

if you do a humboldt undercut, and then notch the backside at a 45, you can control where it will go. I've done it a bunch.

you can use a bottle jack or wedges to help correct for leaning trees

Here is a brave baw I hired to take down a dead pine in by backyard last April. Dude lived for high risk action. He is a vet who suffers from PSTD and by the time his crew left he was comfortable enough with me to try and sell me weed.

This was done the right way. Cutting down the pine in sections with a boom truck.

A straight pine tree like that isn't that terribly expensive. They'd have that thing down in an hour

Something like big oak with tons of leaders is where they are pretty expensive.

Lady a few houses down from my grandparents had a masssssssive oak with 2 of the largest branches over the home taken down a few months ago. That had to have easily been 15k to do.

If you look at Twitter replies, the guy who owns the house responded to the video

I have a live oak that's going to have to come down and I think the last quote I got was 2200. Part of it is over the house but they can get a bucket truck to it which makes it cheaper.

Looks like he was trying to drop it in the street. I’ve seen it done before on similar sized trees.

Pine trees are insanely heavy. I’m surprised it didn’t slice through that house like a hot knife through butter.

My mom's neighbor had one fall on her house during Gustav. It wasn't much bigger than that one. Total bulldoze job.
