I'm curious if this is covered by insurance if the homeowner does this. Is that considered a reasonable accident?
I assume this is in Alabama?

Yeah, you need a boom truck to take that tree down in small sections.

I won't even lie. I watched that video like 20 times in repeat. It's funnier every time.
"OOOOOOOHHHHH GOT DAMNIT!!! frick!. WHAT THE.. JESUS!
Then someone in the back ground, "do not blame it on me"

It's so relatable though. We've all had that moment when you know you fricked up and there's no stopping it.
agreed. i can relate a lot to some similar home projects in my life. not that expensive though.

If notched correctly it can be done but best to use a skid steer or vehicle to help. Best case would've been to limb it out, top it and downward from there. Easier to handle and dont have to worry about crushing someone's house.

The home owner is in the comments LOLing about his house getting crushed. The home owner is the one who needs his arse beat for being such a dumbass for letting a yard guy do this. Another example of in 2020 people think it’s cool to be a dumbass.

Read the comments, there's a guy in there commenting that it was HIS house.
He said ti was his lawn guy that offered to cut it down. You have to be a major league dumb arse to let a lawn guy cut a huge pine tree down right next to your house.

A manlift or something. I've had a few palms trees taken down in the past year or two that were maybe 20 ft tall but small enough where they wouldn't fall in the road and you could control the direction of the fall with a rope. That was a big fricking tree

Miss? shite, those you limb and bring down 12 feet at a time from the top

This needs to be an "IN" gif or a down vote gif!!!
There is actual math/science to making the right wedge and back cut so you get the tree to hinge on itself to guide it where you want it to go.:lol: This made my day!!!

Chill, I don't think he needs his arse beat for it
He didn't kick the neighbor's dog after or something.

Yeah he kind of the frick does. That could have just as easily crashed on his neighbors house because he hired Leeeeeroy fricking Jenkins to cut down his tree

Holy shite. Here's a thread from the comments:

We needed the tree cut down and our lawn guy offered to do it for cheap. He did a good job on the lawn so we trusted him. Turns out he’s not so good with trees. We made him pay for the roof to get fixed and he didn’t have insurance. So the insurance company came after him for over $60,000. He doesn’t do our lawn anymore

he probably thought as long as he cuts the notch correct its going to fall where you want it
It will. He went straight across the bottom the entire way

not if you have a leaner with nothing to pull it. thats a tall tree, a slight lean will pull heavy

Kinda feel bad for the lawn guy. He was just trying to earn some extra cash for X-mas. Now the poor guy is looking at 60g loss..

Also..
What was that rope attached to?

I talked to our lawn company about taking some trees down but only because I know the owner and he has worked for companies that have done that work.
He said he could take it down, but he doesn't have the equipment on hand or the insurance so he's not touching it. But he did put us in touch with someone.
FFS, why would you just expect the guy who mows your yard to be able to take down that big arse tree?
