Why a real tree company, licensed and insured, make a phone call to miss utility. Theyll come mark all underground utilities for nothing.
Some price gouging tree folks around where some of y'all live. I know a guy right now, fully licensed and insured that would climb that tree and have it down in less than hour for a few hundred bucks. All that open yard to piece it out. Truly an easy tree. Only the top, maybe limbs, would take a rope. Have done it numerous times with one climber and one rope man. To be absolutely safe you could rope all of it but not necessary

Good reason to cut the top half down 1st and have it roped to fall down not out

That wasn’t Mother Nature. That was Darwinism. Didn’t anchor it with a rope in the right direction to pull it away from the house. Cut out the notch in the direction of the house. And expected it to not hit the house

It's so relatable though. We've all had that moment when you know you fricked up and there's no stopping it.
agreed. i can relate a lot to some similar home projects in my life. not that expensive though.
I’m happy to say I’ve got a pretty good internal gauge of what I can handle, what’s a challenge, and what’s just too much.
I’ll admit I’ve had some “20’ trees” that have really gotten me nervous. I’ve had some “50’ trees” that I tried to convince myself I could handle and have come to my senses. But I’ve never had any “100’ trees.”

I mean, what the frick did he think was going to happen. Even the best case scenario for that wasn't good
It’s comments like this after watching that video that makes me appreciate this site. As funny as the video was, the comments make the day.
Funny since nobody got hurt and supposed the house got fixed. Homeowner didn’t have to pay and guy who did the mess up did.

I’m an arborist and I love these videos. After Katrina, there were so many Jack legs around the New Orleans area that did shite like this. A friend of mine paid some guy $75 to cut down a pine about the same size and he dropped it across the street in his gated subdivision. It crushed the street and he wound up paying $10k to repair the street and sewer line. The guy with the chainsaw was working for a FEMA contractor crew and cutting trees on the side.
