How does this even happen lol?

Does he make a fake ID saying he's who the city-parish says is the rightful owner? I don't see a closing attorney just taking his word that he owns the place and cutting him a check.

He ought to do like that other baw did. Sign a lease with a buddy, wait till the squatters are gone, break in and change the locks. Cops show up his buddy has a legit lease and squatters don’t have shite. Throw their crap out on the sidewalk.

I’d probably want a bunch of armed redneck buddies with me too when I execute said plan.

The executor took care of the succession for you but I promise one was completed before the title transferred

It fascinates me that a squatter like this actually thinks they can sell a property that does not belong to them. The whole “legal” side of buying a home is littered with paperwork and hurdles to overcome. Who in their right mind would hand over their cash to buy this home given the very clear red flags. Maybe some resident OT real estate lawyer can shed light as to how this sell could legally go thru the system ?

Why haven't the squatters been arrested for trespassing?

Are you saying it is more "chili style" or traditional baked or maybe even "charro style"?

Because they went to the electric company and put the electric in their name. Apparently, our upholders of law feel that gives them some kind of legal standing. It is just an easy way for BRPD to wsh their hands and do nothing.

A suppressed .22 would solve the problem.

That's incredible because I remember how big of a pain in the arse it was to turn the power on to my house when I actually bought it and owned it.

Dude sounds resourceful.

People are so soft now. If it’s your house go there and kick them out yourself. They gonna call the cops on you for getting their asses kicked trespassing??

I don’t understand squatters rights. If I just decided to move into your car and claim it as my own, I’d be arrested on the spot. Why is a home any different? Why do I need to evict you from a place that you have no legal right to be?

I would either -sell the house to a flipper to get it sold. Usually flippers have the cash to remodel a home quickly and sell it. Or - demo the house and put a chain link fence around the property with no trespassing signs. Then put the property up for sale.

Why would one of your options be to just demolish the house?

All you need is a phony bill of sale and it apparently becomes a "civil matter."

Something I've never understood about this. Go there and beat their asses. If you get arrested, you will eventually get off because legally the house is yours and these idiots are essentially burglars.

We have some screwed up laws! Who in the hell made it a law where the owners of the house can't go into their own house, but a squatter can break into your house, trespass onto your property and you have to do a 10-day notice to get them out of YOUR HOUSE?

I guess the squatters figured since the government gives everything away for free anyway that must also include housing!

The article said the squatters were already arrested and jailed for B&E/trespassing on the property. Then when they were released, they used the house as their permanent address and returned to the house to live. They've got some nerve to come back and claim the property is theirs.
