A Louisiana man is battling to retake control of his home after serial squatters moved in twice - and put the property on the market.
Richard Craven and his wife Kristen inherited the four bedroom, 3,200-square-foot ranch style house in Baton Rouge in 2022.
It sat empty for several months, but then Joseph Guerin and Jennifer Chapman moved in.

LA eviction process is pretty easy. Why hasn't he filed to get the 10 day notice posted and then set a court date?

When did the US became a squatter friendly country?

I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' n*****, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch

I don’t understand why you can’t just blow the guy away if he broke in a home and won’t leave.

eviction would be evicting a tenant wouldn’t it? I think this is more than a civil dispute

I’d get my pistol, go to the house and shoot him and the woman dead, then call the cops and tell them them I just killed two intruders.

He would have to squat to pee for the rest of his life if that was my house.

Arrested for breaking in 4 months earlier.

When we started celebrating and rewarding the victim mentality and thug behavior.

He put the property on the market for $225,000, described as a 'magnificent home' with plenty of space for a large family and a pool to 'beat the heat.'
That’ll be a fun one for the closing attorney.

No, he has to get the guy evicted. I feel for the homeowner.

Nothing 50 or 60 venomous snakes, a family of skunks, and an old Haitian woman with a black belt in Voodoo can't solve.

It doesn't matter. You can request an eviction simply stating owner wants his property back. It's why some people sign month-to-month leases so they can evict anytime.
I had to evict a squatter from one of my rentals once before. Went and filed stating I wanted my property back as the reason for the eviction. Never had a lease or even a verbal but it didnt matter. The people left once the 10-day notice was posted thankfully.

Yes any eviction is a civil matter. That's why you get a court date after the 10-day notice is posted and the 10 days have passed. The court hears any disputes and decides.

Seems like its their house they inherited and they would be totally in the right to defend themselves in their own home.
