What part of the government fixes problems at Popeyes? Installs car batteries at auto zone?

We have been in our new town almost a year and are still amazed when our garbage truck arrives on time every week!

If people don't travel, they never realize the difference. I spend a lot of time in another state and it is amazing. 3 people in a Wal Mart asked me if I needed help. Same in Lowes. Unbelievable

The Popeye's in Maryville, TN is always fast and accurate, plus it's usually high school aged white girls working.

Popeyes in Post Falls, ID is the best experience I've had. Always tip top....but wypipo.

When I moved out of LA almost 20 years ago I was shocked. Everything is so backward and you don't realize how much of a drag it is on your psyche.

I was pissed all the time in NOLA mostly from dealing with morons.

Such a breath of fresh air to not deal with those people anymore.

We went to Nebraska last year and I found the same thing true of all service jobs and especially in grocery and fast food places. I mean, it's pretty obvious what the difference is but I won't say it out loud.

TL;DR if you want to move out of state, I would heavily consider it. I just can’t believe what I put up with for so long living in NOLA/BR.

It really is amazing what people will write off just to not have to deal with the perceived hassle of moving.

All you've really described is moving to an area without blacks. This isn't some shocking revelation and certainly not exclusive to Louisiana.

Yeah but how do you manage without diversity? Too many white people in one place is faux pas

Since I realized that the NOLA I grew up in was gone, this is one of the few things I miss

As to the OP, I’ve been telling my SLA friends and family for years that the dysfunction they just accept as normal really isn’t.

People in LA love to rag on TX and call it Mexico or other denigrating terms.

I'll tell you first of all that the majority of first generation Hispanics I encounter, legal or illegal are perfectly pleasant. Second gen are basically just like any other white Americans with some Mexican traditions.

There are barrios for sure in the big cities. I still feel 100 percent safer there than any of the "nice" parts of NOLA.
