They’re progressives. Irony is lost on them.

I know this is a fan favorite on here, but the nuance of that issue has been debated for a very, very long time: Wiki: Paradox of Tolerance

They know this and that's why they said it. Gives them tons of free publicity when it is scooped up and spread around to generate outrage click bait. Otherwise they are just another neighborhood bar.

And this will bring in business in a place like Fairfax, not scare it off. Biden got 70% of the vote there.

So they’re “open to debate and discussion” as long as it aligns with their views. Also, it’s a “shame” that we can’t have those conversations and they’re forced to kick people out of their bar because those people don’t agree with the owner’s views.

Interesting.

In short: “We’re tolerant of all people here so you have to leave because we won’t tolerate your opinion.”

I can actually appreciate the bar owners taking a stance.

I also appreciate the free market responding in whichever manner they see fit.

Let the chips fall where they may.

Reminds me of the Lesbian-owned bar that lasted maybe all of two weeks before it wasn't inclusive enough by allowing the workers co-ownership.

Along with logic.

"We're taking a stand against intolerance....by being intolerant! Yeah, that's the ticket!"

Just a hunch, but I'm guessing the "bigotry and hatred" from patrons was rather innocuous.

"Looks like no one is drinking Bud Light anymore."

"Ain't that some bullshite?"

"Yeah, frick Bud Light."

Then a straight white progressive bartender overheard such conversations, got her panties twisted, and complained to management.

Your opinion is shite.

As someone who has frequented bars for 20 years, they are spaces where people go to drink, fight, and look for sluts.

I have a funny story about one of my old roommates and a well known local bar but I’m not gonna tell it because I don’t want to get banned

almost certainly. "hate speech" to these people is literally just political or cultural speech they disagree with.
