And of course, it's everybody's fault BUT the student (and parent).

Absolutely pitiful

That's on the school for passing him every year. He should have been held back years ago.

A lot of schools do social promotion when they should really be holding kids back or forcing summer school to advance.

If you aren’t getting it in the current year, it likely won’t click the next year either when you build on what you were already supposed to have learned.

Is it racist to have truancy policies or enforce them?

We have to sign something every year agreeing we are responsible for this.

Best part is she wants the school to still graduate her son and send him out into the world instead of going back and possibly learning how to read and write. She knew he was failing everything for 4 years but as long as he was getting closer to finishing she didn't care that he was uneducated and incapable of anything in life. frick her

It's also probably one of those schools where you get 50% credit for just writing your name on the test.

This is what happens when you give away something “for free”. It becomes worthless to most involved on the receiving end of the transaction.

This is the inherent problem.

This would be funny if it wasn't extremely sad. How in the hell did this woman not know how her son was doing in school.

There’s the problem.
