Officers located the suspect using Flock Safety camera information and attempted to make contact, according to the release. The suspect fled on foot and engaged officers in gunfire before running into the woods.

happened in my town. shut down half of Bell County for the day.

joking aside, if this was all I knew they'd be used for that would be one thing...

In a few years they may not be "Flock" cameras, but the ice has been broken and they are not going away. Wikipedia

Love it or hate the technology, they're here to stay.

In law school one of the books had a version of this quote. It was an American official bragging that it is better that a 1000 criminals go free than 1 innocent man be sent to jail. And the Japanese official asked, "Better for who".

I think a Chinese guy asked the same question to a British guy about their justice system. Shows the difference between eastern and western cultures.

Nobody has ever said they don't work.

But that's kind of the problem with them...

We all know how this is going to end. The first blonde haired, blue eyed 6-yr old girl that gets kidnapped and killed where the authorities state they had vehicle/tag/suspect info but local cameras had been turned off will cause a firestorm. The same ones demanding masks/vax cards/social distancing will be protesting in favor of surveillance.

Oh how we long for the good ole days, before DNA analysis, before cameras, before organized communication between local and federal law enforcement, when the average in-bred mongrel could rape and kill five, ten, even twenty of our daughters before our inept local cops could catch them.

Now, someone in a police station can deterime that I'm driving to buy ice cream for the third time this week. Fat frick
