Mine has been at the body shop for 5 weeks, and the ETA is November 11. No mechanical work, just body, 2 lights, and sensors.

What kind of vehicle? Is this in BTR?
During Covid, my nephews daughter wrecked a Range Rover (POS), couldn't get parts. I told him, buy her something else, when the RR is fixed, sell it!

I was in an accident late last year in my f-150. It took 3 weeks just to get an appointent for an estimate, then i had to wait 6 weeks before they took it in. Then once it was in it took another 6 weeks. Take some advice from me, go to ford unless you know a good indepent body shop. Stay away from the chain ones like Caliber.

Depends on the vehicle and damage.

I have a friend who's vehicle has been in the shop for 8 months because of a simple support bracket being on backorder.

Like everything, supply chain is fricked right now.

In NYC, it took a long time for my girlfriend's to be repaired in 2022. Not nearly a year but at least 4 months.

It took around 6 weeks before all the insurance was done and work approved at the body shop.

Over a month for the body shop to get the work done.

Then another month for the body shop to re-do the many corners they had cut after she complained.

Limited info but your either:
- Troll

- Not paying your deductible and they are holding your vehicle until it's paid.

- For some reason you went to Owen's Collision.

- Just don't care about your car and don't check on progress of parts & work.

Just had this issue. The first 3 places I called said it would be at least a month before they could even get me in. Finally I called a body shop that was run by mexicans and was appropriately named Angel's. Not only could they get me in that same day but it only took them 4 days to fix 3k worth of damage caused by a deer.

Moral of the story is that maybe we do need more illegals coming in.

A woman backed into my car in a parking lot. It took over 4 months to get my car repaired.

My 2 month old, all black Silverado had a few cans of some spray insulation foam exploded on I-12 in front of me and coated my entire truck with splotches of pink everywhere. On the front grill and hood, looked like bird shite splattered. On the rest of the body just dots of pink everywhere you looked. Insurance was tempted to total it out the gate but gave the body shop the chance to do what they said they can do. Very reputable shop too.

Everything hard plastic had to be replaced. Truck completely taken apart, stripped and sanded down and several parts like the hood and a wheel well replaced.

I dropped it off around august 12th. I’m praying it is done tomorrow like they said. Some parts that came in were damaged and had to be re-ordered. Frustrating as shite but as someone mentioned the shop is at the mercy of the supplier. I’m getting a ceramic coating out of it.

Wow. It took this long. Everybody that knows anything about it says it usually takes about 350.

Another question. Insurance company’s are not allowed to spend more than a certain percentage of the vehicles value on repairs. If they spend over that amount the vehicle has to be totaled.

Is the vehicles value determined at the start of repairs or at any time during the repair? The value of this vehicle has gone down about 10% since time of accident and I’m certain that the insurance company has spent over the allowed amount based on the new value of the vehicle.

And that value will keep going down the longer the vehicle is in the shop.

My last claim was about 6 weeks and insurance only pays the rent car for 30 days.

I also learned that the body shop near Diddy’s ATL estate prioritizes rapper cars over claims.

Only in some states. Some states they can repair over 100% of the value of the vehicle, although it very rarely makes financial sense for the insurance company to do so.
