These threads are stupid because it's impossible to tell if anyone who claims to be against it actually believes that or if they're trolling.

State needs the tax money
To fix, what, a few potholes? Do some research on how much Colorado's pot taxes contribute -- on a percentage basis -- to the overall state budget.
Hint: it ain't much. And for the record, I'm for full legalization.

I don’t smoke or do drugs but feel that they should all be decriminalized, taxed and sold legally just like alcohol.
Anyone that wants to do meth or heroin or smoke pot is doing so now already, the few people that would try it if it were legal are morons and likely would have gotten hooked on pain meds or something else anyway.
We save millions not jailing people for selling it, fighting it and make tax revenue.
The downside is church groups and people employed that fight it.

Put it to a vote by the citizens of our state and let them decide.
I personally won't indulge since my place of employment does test. But I don't have an issue for it to be available to others.
That's how I feel about it. I don't live in LA anymore but I think the more states that legalize recreational use the better. The more momentum it gets the better for everyone IMO

Yes. I don't smoke it either.
Yep. Me also
Why is this even a question?
Go to the Polibard. I bet you get the same answers here.
Things Americans have moved on from that no one seems to get.
Americans are fine with the Mary Jane. The majority of Americans are fine with whoever wants to marry each other.
It's not the 1980s anymore. People don't vote with their hand on the bible anymore. See the past 2 presidents we have elected. One has the name of Hussein, not necessarily a Southern Baptist name and the other is a playboy, not named Bill Clinton.

Yes. No reason it shouldn’t be treated just like alcohol. I enjoy it in states where it’s legal a few times a year and always have a good time.

If you value freedom then you should be FOR legalization.
Those people against it are just parroting how they were raised and what they are used to, without giving it any objective thought.

Yup. State needs the tax money, and I think it's a fairly harmless drug that people should be able to use
That's NEVER a reason to allow this, just to tax it. That's not a good first step: legalize it so you can tax it. This would defeat what many want out of this vote.

Correct. It seems like some people feel they just justify legalization to the government.
frick that. The government works for us, not the other way around.
It needs to go to a popular vote.

I don't know what you mean "light medical uses" but I know for me edibles and concentrated oils have helped me tremendously with chemo side effects. It is much better than the prescriptions I was given to help combat nausea, pain, lack of appetite and general fatigue.
actually, that was "legit"...autocorrected to "light"
yours is the only first-hand evidence I have ever heard as to the medicinal benefits...since you experienced it yourself and compared versus existing meds, I would consider that to be a legitimate medical use

Mississippi is going to legalize Wacky Toebacky? You know something? You got friends in High Places?
People will drive to the state where it is legal to buy and then bring it back. To break it down, they are spending their money elsewhere. The state does not get any of the money and the people get their weed.
Posted on 1/6/19 at 10:23 pm to PiscesTiger
I know very few people, and no one under 40, who supports weed prohibition. I know judges, cops, and prosecutors who support legalization.
