High taxes on weed means you still don't get rid of the criminal element.

California taxed it so much that sales in stores went down in the year after recreational purchases were legalized.

The Louisiana politicians are terrified of the prospect of people actually deciding this for themselves. These fricks are either bought by the sheriff/DA lobby, beholden to the church crowd who think the Bible outlaws pot, or are just willfully ignorant and choose to still believe pot is as dangerous as heroin.

As far as I’m concerned it’s a moot point without federal legalization.

It should be a state by state law. The federal government shouldn't even have that power.

Yeah there’s a point when taxes are so ridiculous that people will grow it themselves or buy it from friends. But most people, if the taxes are reasonable, would embrace the chance to simply walk into a store and pick from an assortment of strains.

True but the federal government gave itself the power to regulate just about anything. I’m disgusted with Obama for not trying to tackle the issue. I wish Trump would. It’d create a lot of good will with young voters.

Asset forfeiture is nothing less than the government stealing from its citizens. Just saw an article the other day where a federal appeallate court ruled that the government didn’t have to return seized assets after the accused was acquitted. That’s awful.
Hell yes it should be legal. And regulated like tobacco and alcohol. No possession or sales allowed to anyone under 21.
Freedom and shite. Absolutely.

I don’t buy the argument that there are light medical uses.

I don't know what you mean "light medical uses" but I know for me edibles and concentrated oils have helped me tremendously with chemo side effects. It is much better than the prescriptions I was given to help combat nausea, pain, lack of appetite and general fatigue.

While I have seen first hand the benefits of cannabis oils, I also have no problem with cannabis being legal in all forms and for medical and recreational use.

Our state can't even get the extremely limited medical cannabis program running right. I read today that they can't find an acceptable lab to test the cannabis grown by LSU and Southern. Two years after it was made legal the state still can't get their shite together. I guess the right people haven't received the proper kickbacks from the dispensaries to make the process work as outlined in the law.

I wish he would too. The funny thing is that a lot of young people are essentially free market libertarians when they support services like Uber and AirBnB. All this yet they vote for people that want to tax and regulate everything.

Legalize it screw that.

How else are we supposed to get free slave labor from prisoners if we aren't arresting them for getting high.

Totally for it.
It is a huge waste of money to police it and incarcerate people for it.

I’m not for it. I’ve seen the negative impact it has had on several people. Started out smoking dope. Progressed to heroin. Dead.

Mississippi is the buckle of the Bible Belt. We will be the last one to pass this IMO.

You think maybe if they had a legal source for MJ they would have ever ended up coming in to contact with a heroin dealer?
