Are there still people who believe that the virus came from the wet market?

Or has everyone now accepted that it came from the Wuhan lab, whether released by accident or on purpose? Asking for a friend.

From what I understand the bat species that the virus comes from isn’t sold in the wet market and comes from a region about 500 miles from Wuhan. But the Chinese lab that was studying this bat species, specifically viral infections of this species is located smack in the middle of Wuhan. So, tell me. Where do you think it came from?

As for the release of that virus, i have no idea if the initial outbreak in Wuhan was intentional. But here is what I do know.

1. China and the WHO both lied to the world as late as February claiming there was no evidence of human to human transmission of the virus.

2. China halted all domestic travel to and from Wuhan but allowed international travel. So someone in Wuhan could not travel to say Beijing, but they could travel to places like America, Europe, or anywhere else in the world except China. Considering they knew they had an outbreak, one they were lying to the world about, why do you suppose they would shutdown domestic travel but allow international travel to and from Wuhan?

BTW, if your gonna downvote my post, at least have the balls to explain what I’ve said that you disapprove of.

I heard a news story today that some US scientists are saying it didn’t come from a laboratory. I suppose it doesn’t matter what the truth is, both sides will just use it to push their political agendas

It does matter what the truth is. And it’s glaringly obvious to anyone with a lick of common sense what that truth really is.

So you think it couldn't have gone from the lab to the wet market?

Almost as disturbing as the virus is the discovery of how many stupid and paranoid folks are walking our streets.

To me, whether it came from a wet market or was accidentally released from a lab doesn’t make much difference. Either way, China lied, tried to conceal the truth, etc. China is 100% responsible for this mess. The wet markets are barbaric places that should be eradicated.

Now, if it was intentionally released, that’s an act of war and a whole other discussion.

I don't claim to know the answer. I have my suspicions but that is all they are. But I continue to be amazed at the people who can't even consider the possibility that this might have escaped from the Wuhan lab. In my view, it is not a far fetched possibility. The lack of intellectual curiosity on this important issue is something to behold.

They haven’t confirmed it came directly from a bat, much less a particular species of bat.

Also, don’t ignore the possibility that the Wuhan index patient was someone who got infected in rural China, spread it at the market, and then went home. People seem to be equating the fact that tracing is centered there that it is claimed the virus started there.

China partitions who is allowed to live in the city or near it, but that’s where the money is. So rural farmers travel a long way to sell wares sometimes.

Personally that’s my vote.

80% chance it was a novel rural virus that entered the urban world via market meeting with people.

20% chance it was a novel rural virus being evaluated and characterized in the level 2 segment of the lab and got out via crappy practices.

0% chance it was an engineered virus.

It's entirely possible the virus spread to another animal that IS in the wet market, though, such as a pangolin.

Nobody knows for sure.

It’s a very small chance...but not 0%.

I am confident we have a 0% chance of learning where the virus came from.

I thought it was common knowledge that the first case was in the lab and spread like fire in the market. So no the virus didn’t start in the market but yes those were some of its first victims.

It’s a small chance along the lines in that according to the laws of physics there is a very small chance of probability your atoms can quantum barrier tunnel through the seat of your car at any given time.

There is not a shred of legit molecular biology data to support the engineered hypothesis.
